Installing HP SIM on HP-UX


• Remove any older versions (including SCM)
• Also remove directories left behind after uninstall
• swinstall –s /HPSIM-HP-UX_C.05.00.05.00_11.23.depot \*
• Initialize the database
• /opt/mx/bin/mxinitconfig –a
• Wait for the initialization to complete
• Check with /opt/mx/bin/mxuser –lt
• If the user is present, init is complete
• Setup SSH
• cat /etc/opt/mx/config/sshtools/.dtfSshKey.pub >>
~/.ssh/authorized_keys2
• Verify services started
• ps –ef | grep mx
• Look for mxdomainmgr, mxinventory, mxadmin, mxdtf, mxagent
