submit to Tutor for review at the end of each month. Your participation in the Zoom/BbC
sessions (preparation by reading the relevant unit and completing activities, engaging in
discussions in the online session and completing the forums related to the topic for the
specific unit and class) should be considered when you decide on your mark for the session).

Guidelines for Self-Assessment of Class Participation

Attendance – 2 marks (present for the entire session)

                         1 mark (present for only part of the session; more than one hour)

Punctuality – Present before the start of class   -  3 marks

                        1 – 15 minutes late                                      -  2 marks

                        15 – 30 minutes late                                    -  1 mark

                         More than 30 minutes late                          -  0 marks

Participation

Engaged in class discussion consistently, was prepared with relevant content to contribute,
asked appropriate questions                -  5 marks

Responded to questions in the general session on two occasions and in the breakout rooms,
demonstrated preparedness for the session – 3 marks
Was present but not very active in the session, did not get the opportunity to prepare but was
willing to share opinions related to the topic being discussed – 2 marks

Was present for the session but only shared ideas in the chat – 1 mark

Was present but just listened; did not make any contributions – 0 marks

                  

Final score for participation will be calculated using the following formula – total marks
attained/number of sessions x 5
