RESEARCH

The field of remote sensing, aviation, space and other related industries are filled with an array of logos that have many
similarities. Arcs, curves, green and blue color palettes, and icons matched with wordmarks scatter the visual spectrum.

It’s important that the new ICRSE and ISRSE logos differentiate themselves from it’s affiliates and competitors through
style, color and rhythm. Many logos pair an icon with a wordmark, however in the instance of ICRSE and ISRSE, using an
acronym is complicated enough, and would thus benefit from a cohesive logotype.

INSPIRATION/CREATION

In researching the science and methodology behind remote sensing, it became apparent that the functions of remote
sensing, like data integration, mathematical equations and information overlap, would drive and inspire the concepts
behind each design.

ISRSE SYMPOSIUM MATERIALS

Every 2 years, the ISRSE holds a symposium that provides some of the top professionals in the field with the opportunity
to come together and join in a discussion about the on goings in remote sensing and the environment. These materials
help establish the new ISRSE identity through color and design.

Dear John Doe,

The Organizing Committee of the 34th International Remote Sensing Symposium for of the Environment (ISRSE) takes
great pleasure in encouraging you to visit Sydney and participate in what promises to be an excellent high quality
Symposium. The Symposium will take place from 10- 15 April, 2011 in Sydney, Australia. The theme of the Symposium is
Shirt
“The GEOSS Era: Towards Operational Environmental Monitoring”.

Sydney, Australia’s largest city is strategically positioned with excellent access to Asia Pacific countries. This ensures that
a significant number of remote sensing scientists from this region will be able to attend. The Symposium will provide a
platform for countries with established and emerging earth observation programs to report on their progress, as well as
new initiatives in the remote sensing arena.

This Symposium provides a unique opportunity for remote sensing practitioners, scientists, system engineers and policy
makers to share their knowledge and gain an excellent coverage of the current status of a range of remote sensing Tote Bag
applications and developments now critical for the sustainability of the Earth’s environment.

As well, the 10-year Implementation Plan of the Group on Earth Observation (GEO) is well underway and therefore the
Symposium provides an important opportunity for GEO members and task teams to present details of progress of their
work. The local organizing committee will aim to host key people from GEO.

We look forward to welcoming you in Sydney, Australia in April.

Please note this letter does not constitute a commitment on the part of the Organizing Committee to provide financial
