ENGINE FAILURE IMMEDIATELY AFTER TAKE OFF
AIRPLANE EVACUATION
1 SPEED MINIMUM 51 KIAS
With the engine secured and propeller stopped (if practical): FIND A SUITABLE PLACE TO LAND SAFELY
1 FUEL SHUT OFF VALVE OFF At, or right before touch down
2 ENGINE SECURE
The immediate landing should be planned straight
3 PARKING BRAKE ON WARNING ahead with only small changes in directions not
4 RADIO CALL MAYDAY
5 MASTER SWITCH OFF exceeding 45° to the left and 45° to the right.
6 SEAT BELTS UNSTRAP COMPLETELY
7 HEADPHONES REMOVE 2 FLAPS AS NEEDED
8 CANOPY OPEN
9 IF CANOPY IS LOCKED OR BREAK USING THE HAMMER
Stall speed increases with bank angle and
DOESN’T SLIDE WARNING
10 ESCAPE AWAY FROM FLAMES/ HOT ENGINE COMPARTMENT/
longitudinal load factor. Acoustic stall warning will

ENGINE SECURING
OIL PRESSURE LIMITS EXCEEDANCE
Following procedure is applicable to shut-down the engine in flight:
1 THROTTLE HAND CONTROL IDLE IF OIL PRESSURE EXCEEDS UPPER LIMIT (7 BAR):
(rotate fully counter-clockwise) 1 THROTTLE HAND CONTROL REDUCE ENGINE POWER AS
OR (or STANDARD THROTTLE) PRACTICAL
1 THROTTLE STANDARD CONTROL IDLE 2 OIL PRESS/OIL TEMP CHECK WITHIN LIMITS
(fully out) 3 LAND AS SOON AS PRACTICAL
2 IGNITION KEY OFF IF OIL PRESSURE IS UNDER THE LOWER LIMIT (0.8 BAR):
3 FUEL SELECTOR OFF 1 THROTTLE HAND CONTROL REDUCE MINIMUM
4 ELECTRICAL FUEL PUMP OFF (or STANDARD THROTTLE) PRACTICAL
5 GENERATOR SWITCH OFF 2 LAND AS SOON AS PRACTICAL
IF OIL PRESSURE CONTINUES TO DECREASE:
1 LAND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE APPLYING FORCED LANDING

WARNING After a mechanical engine seizure, fire or a WARNING Do not attempt engine restart

7 LAND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE APPLYING FORCED LANDING
PROCEDURE
1 CARBURETTOR HEAT - IF REQUIRED ON
2 ELECTRICAL FUEL PUMP ON CABIN FIRE/
3 FUEL QUANTITY INDICATOR CHECK
4 FUEL SELECTOR CHANGE TANK ELECTRICAL SMOKE IN CABIN DURING FLIGHT
5 IGNITION KEY BOTH
6 IGNITION KEY START 1 CABIN HEATING OFF
7 THROTTLE HAND CONTROL SET AS 2 CABIN VENTS OPEN
(or STANDARD THROTTLE) REQUIRED 3 CANOPY OPEN, IF NECESSARY
4 TRY TO CHOKE THE FIRE DIRECT THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER
TOWARDS FLAME BASE
CAUTION After engine restart, if practical, moderate IF SMOKE PERSISTS:
propeller rpm and throttle increase to allow OIL 5 GENERATOR & MASTER SWITCHES OFF
and CHT temperatures for stabilizing in the 6 LAND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND EVACUATE THE AIRCRAFT
green arcs. CAUTION If the MASTER SWITCH is set to OFF, consider
