Adopting the descriptive teachers in developing the grade 7
research design, the study utilized
qualitative approaches to interpret the
pertinent data gathered from document
analysis, interview, survey, and
observations.
Findings proved that direct
vocabulary instruction was practiced
inside the Grade 7 classrooms. Among
the three divisions, strategies under
Contextual analysis were the most
frequently used in Grade 7 classrooms
as such strategies were indicated in the
newly-implemented K to 12 curriculum
for the said level. Hence, they were still
included in the game developed. Also it
was found that the vocabulary
strategies the CT was comfortable in
using in her instruction were found to
be the strategies the students were
frequently employed with. Thus, the
game developed, for balance, offered
some items using strategies the CT
seldom used. By contrast, given that
Structural analysis was not intended for
Grade 7 students in the K to 12
Curriculum, strategies that fall under it
were found to be seldom or not at all
used in Grade 7 classrooms. However,
Structural analysis is still a way for the
students to unlock unfamiliar words;
therefore, some items in the game
included such strategies of which they
are applicable to use. In addition,
combining different strategies under
Contextual analysis, Structural
analysis, and C’s of vocabulary, as
mentioned by the CT, was seen helpful
to students’ better vocabulary
development. Thus, the developed
Philitabulary included items in which
different vocabulary strategies from the
three divisions were combined. Lastly,
Philitabulary was regarded to be a good
additional or alternative material for

students’ vocabulary.
The study recommended the
exploration of other vocabulary
development strategies in Grade 7
classrooms, particularly those under
structural analysis and C’s of
vocabulary for such were seen
applicable to some words in the literary
pieces in the book. Teachers are also
encouraged to use a variety of
strategies. Furthermore, the locale may
use Philitabulary in Grade 7 classrooms
as an alternative to the existing
materials. Lastly, future researchers
could continue enhancing Philitabulary
by completing all the Philippine literary
pieces included in the Grade 7 book,
adding more items in the game, as well
as embedding more interactive
features.
