Plan of Action

Based on our recommendation, we plan to execute the following actions to


introduce the culture of the employees to each other:

● Build a culture roadmap.


What tangible things will you put in place to promote and grow your
culture? Think communication tools, team building exercises, team bonding
events, for instance. This will enhance their relationship and learn through the
behavior of other people.

● Celebrate traditional holidays, festivals, and food

Celebrating diversity can help increase cultural literacy, awareness, and


acceptance. Start by including the holidays and festivals of other cultures in your
company email or news bulletin, and then celebrate them at work when
appropriate. This will show your employees that you recognise and accept their
cultures. You could also host a staff dinner or an international food day with
cultural awareness as the theme, and have your employees bring a traditional
dish from their homeland.

By introducing your staff to other traditions, you’ll increase their sensitivity


to cultural differences. They’ll also be able to learn words in another language
that they can hopefully use when communicating with foreign colleagues and
customers.

● Make a culture statement or if there’s already an existing statement,


evaluate it and make sure that it is based on the core values that the
company wants to uphold.

Mission and Vision statements may just be a statement but this defines
the purpose of the company. It provides a foundation and serves as a guide for
everyone in the workplace. It makes them feel more belong and it instills a sense
of identity. This will help shape the behavior and strategies that they want to
achieve such as inclusivity and respect among each other.

● Establish a development committee.

This committee will be composed of a diverse group of people from every


department or office in the company. They will have to come up with a new
culture idea to be implemented for a week, which means that they will experience
different cultures every week. This will help the company understand different
cultures. It will create momentum and constant relationship improvement in the
workplace. The members of the committee will have to change every quarter to
keep it fresh.
