Read the extract of a story of “The Emperor’s New Clothes” below carefully and answer the
questions that follow.
Baca petikan cerita “Baju Baru Maharaja” di bawah dan jawab soalan-soalan berikut.

The emperor had a different robe for every hour of the day. His palace was
filled with clothes of different colours. These clothes filled one whole floor of his
palace. But he still wanted more.
One day, two tailors came to see the emperor. They said they could sew the
most beautiful clothes. They said that their clothes were also magical. Only wise men
could see them. Those who could not see the clothes were fools.
The emperor wanted to find out which of his people were fools. So he told the
tailors to start sewing the robe at once.
The tailors used the best silk and gold thread. He also gave them lots and lots
of money. Finally, the robe was ready .The emperor sent his prime minister to look at
it. He could not see anything. He pretended that he saw the robe and praised it.
The prime minister went back to the emperor and told him about the beautiful
robe. The emperor was pleased.
Finally the emperor went to see the robe. He looked and looked but he could
not see it. He did not want people to know that he was a fool. He praised the tailors
for sewing such a beautiful robe for him. He told them that he will use the robe during
the next royal parade.
