Model Paragraph
This is the story of Edwin Hubble, who was one of the greatest astronomers of the 20th century. Edwin
Hubble was born in Missouri, (in) the US in 1889. After/When he finished high school, he worked in
different part-time jobs as/since/because he needed money for his university education. In 1910, he
graduated from the University of Chicago, and got a diploma in (both) mathematics and astronomy.
Then, he went to Oxford University to study law, but he was not happy about studying in this field, so
he decided to return to his true interest: astronomy. In 1918, he began working at Yerkes Observatory
in Wisconsin, and made some of the greatest discoveries in the field of astronomy there. In the last few
years of his life, he tried to make astronomy part of the Nobel Prize for physics, but he couldn’t make
this dream come true as/since/because he died of a sudden heart attack at the age of 64.
