INTRODUCTION
Computing is the field of scientific, technical and industrial activity concerning the automatic
processing of information via the execution of computer programs by machines: on-board
systems, computers, robots, automatons, etc. …
The technician is a computer expert who takes care of installing, updating and repairing
computer devices and systems, both from a hardware point of view (the physical components
of a computer, server, etc.) and software (programs and applications).
The IT technician ensures that the IT systems remain operational, and he intervenes accordingly
with his technical assistance in the event of breakdowns or malfunctions. He takes care of
interventions on computer devices such as computers, tablets, smartphones, printers, servers
and corporate networks, LAN and WAN (Local Area Network and Wide Area Network)
networks.
The IT Service is an essential element of the EMINES-School of Industrial Management. Like
all of his colleagues, the technician is at service to all users, whether students, teachers, or staff
of the establishment. Its priority must be the continuity of this essential service to teaching and
research activities.

HISTORY
The history of computer science is strongly linked to that of mathematics. From World War II
onwards, computers were used for military purposes. The invented computers are then gigantic.
Technological advances accelerated during the 1970s and 1980s: from the creation of the
microprocessor to nanotechnology. This allows a democratization of information technology
which is introduced into homes.

Computer
A computer: is a set of devices mechanical, electronic and software capable of receiving, to
process and transmit information.

CONCLUSION
Since its inception in 1950, computing has undergone profound transformations. The
transformation of computer hardware in terms of speed, power, reliability, miniaturization is
impressive. The software transformation is at least as deep, transformation in quality, security,
complexity, reusability. The standardization of objects, processes, computer languages was
essential so that all these transformations can take place. IT has professional uses in all areas
and private uses: games, mail, Web. These transformations of hardware, software and uses have
profoundly changed the economic, political and social structure of human societies Computer
science has enabled the creation of programming languages, libraries of scientific, statistical
and other calculations, of word processing, of databases. These are tools which extend our
thinking and our memory and which bring new ways of thinking, of calculating, to write, to
communicate.
