NELTA 16th International Conference

CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS
Nepal English Language Teachers’ Association (NELTA) is organising its 16TH
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE from 18-20 February 2011 at DAV Sushil Kediya
Vishwa Bharati Higher Secondary School, Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Nepal and
from 22-23 February 2011 at Gandaki Higher Secondary Boarding School, Lamachaur,
Pokhara. The Conference is a professional get together of a large number of ELT
practitioners, methodologists, textbooks/materials writers, teacher trainers, etc. from all
parts of Nepal and abroad. The participants at the Conference are usually ELT
practitioners from public as well as private educational organisations and from all levels
of education - primary to university. The theme of the SIXTEENTH INTERNATIONAL
CONFERENCE is:

English in Multilingual and Cross-cultural Context: Exploring Opportunities and Meeting


the Challenges

1. Professor Adrian Holliday from the UK
2. Professor John F. Fanselow from the USA

Papers will also be accepted on any other topics on ELT.

The Conference will organise plenary sessions, talks/papers, workshops, poster


presentations, etc. Exhibitions of ELT materials and books will also be organised.

We would be grateful if you agree to do a session during the conference. Please fill out
the enclosed "Presenter's Proposal Form" giving details of your presentation(s) and send

The registration fee includes costs for lunch, tea and snacks on the conference days and
stationery. It does not include the costs for travel, lodging, board (except lunch) and other
expenses.

The registration fee may be sent in the form of an account payee cheque or a money order
drawable by NELTA from Nabil Bank Ltd., Kantipath, Kathmandu. The NELTA branch
members should contact their branch office for this purpose.

Presenters and participants from abroad may submit their registration fee on the spot once
they reach the conference venue, and once they pay registration fee for Kathmandu
conference, they DO NOT PAY FOR POKHARA.

PRESENTER’S PROPOSAL FORM

Proposals for talks, papers, workshops, poster presentations, research reports which focus on EFL
methodologies, classroom practices, techniques, activities, strategies, teaching and learning
materials, testing etc. are invited. Proposals should be typed/hand written on one side of the paper
only. They can also be sent as e-mail attachments.
