INSTRUCTIONS – ENTRY REQUIREMENTS – PROCESS

1. Fill out and sigh the «APPLICATION FORM»

The educational program refers:

• The European Union citizens, including the citizens of the new-entered countries who
have a green card.
• Third-country nationals residing legally in Greece regardless of their origin.
• To immigrants over 16 years old who do not study in the Greek Schools of Primary and
Secondary Education.
• To employed- unemployed- retired, regardless employment status
• According to the Greek legislation, THIRD COUNTRY NATIONALS WHO HAVE
SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THE THREE YEARS OF THE GREEK LOWER SECONDARY
EDUCATION (GYMNASIO) AND THEY DO NOT HAVE TO ATTEND A2 Level of the
educational program “Odysseus”.

The information on this form should be complete, true and accurate.

Ε. LEVEL OF GREEK LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

Desirable Level
This educational program includes two levels:

Level Α1: This is a basic course comprised of lessons of the Greek language, History and Culture and
everyday life practices (Beginners).
Course length: 125 hours

Level Α2: The course comprises of two units: Greek language lessons (150 hours) and history and culture
(25 hours). After having attended a course of A2 Level, trainees have the opportunity to take exams
of the General Secretariat of Lifelong Learning in order to attain the status of long – term
abiding in Greece according to the Greek legislation.
Course length: 175 hours

Candidates are classified to A1 or A2 Level after having completed a placement test.

Exception: the trainees who have successfully attended at least Level A of the educational program “Greek
as a Second Language to Working Immigrants” are classified to Level A2, without sitting a placement test.

F. Three-hour courses run twice (2) or three (3) times per week.
Given that the educational program is within the framework of «Lifelong Learning», the weekly program is
flexible according to the trainees needs.

According to lifelong principles this course the weekly program is flexible as trainers may require.
