glycosylated haemoglobin 1
The graph is approximately normally distributed since the value of mean, 5% trimmed mean
and median are quite similar. The graph has a bell-shaped curve and the total area under the
curve is 1. The two tails of the distribution extend indefinitely and never touch the horizontal
axis. The measure of central tendency is mean which is 10.207. While the measure of
dispersion is standard deviation which is 1.5832.

haemoglobin 1

1. H0: There is no difference between the mean of glycosylated haemoglobin with 6

mmol/mol in population, H0 : µ = 6 mmol/mol
HA: There is significant different between the mean of glycosylated haemoglobin with 6
mmol/mol in the population, HA: µ ≠ 6.0
2. Significance level, α= 0.05 (for 95% CI)
3. The statistical test is one sample t-test, to compare the mean of glycosylated haemoglobin
with its normal value, 6 mmol/mol.
4. The test is random sampling so inferential statistics can be applied and the result is valid
for the sample and population.
5. Independent
6. Normality assumption: The sample size is 102 which is greater than 30, thus central limit
theorem should be applied. Therefore, the sampling distribution is normally distributed even
though the distribution of variables in the population is not normal.
7. To check the normality assumption: The histogram is approximately normally distributed
because it has a bell-shaped curve. The mean, 5% trimmed mean and median is nearly
similar.
8. The p-value is <0.001
 Since p-value < α (0.05); we reject H0
 Thus, HA : There is a significant difference between the mean of glycosylated
haemoglobin with 6 mmol/L in the population.
 HA : µ ≠ 6 mmol/L
