A comprehensive range of hydraulic motors
Sauer-Danfoss produces a wide range of low-
speed hydraulic motors with maximum ope-
rating torques ranging from 13 Nm (115 in-lbs)
to 2,700 Nm (24,000 in-lbs) and maximum out-
puts from 2.0 kW (2.7 hp) to 70 kW (95 hp). Our
motor range is designed for moderate to high
loads. Characteristic of the motors is that they
have a very long life, even when subjected to
severe operating conditions. With the many
variants available, it is always possible to find
the optimum solution for your specific appli-
cation. Sauer-Danfoss produces a total of 1600
different hydraulic types of motors.

Mini motors
OML, OMM
Sauer-Danfoss minimotors are ideal in indu-
strial applications and for functions in the
mobile sector, e.g. mobile conveyors in harvest-

Medium sized motors

OMP, DH, OMR, DS, OMH, OMEW

Sauer-Danfoss medium-sized motors are light

and compact, and therefore easy to install in
equipment such as forklift trucks, grass-cutters,
winches, fishing vessels and injection moulding
machines. Our medium-sized motors have the
following characteristics:

• High radial and axial bearing capacity.

• Spool valve integrated with output shaft,
except for OMEW which has a disc valve.
• OMP/DH has a fixed gear rim and is ideal for
long periods of operation at moderate
pressure and short periods of operation at
high pressure.
• OMR/DS/OMH has a gear rim with rollers
and is suitable for long periods of operation
at high pressure.
• OMEW is provided with a hydraulically
balanced disc valve which ensures optimum

OMS, OMT, OMV

Sauer-Danfoss offers a range of large motors OMS, OMT and OMV are offered as wheel

motors. The recessed mounting flange on these
wheel motors makes it possible to mount a
wheel hub so that radial loads are supported
halfway between the tapered roller bearings in
the motor and thereby ensure optimum
bearing capacity. A wheel motor also gives a
very compact design.
OMSS/OMTS/OMVS – short motors
The combination of motors and gears gives
smooth and even operation at very low speeds
and high torques. OMS, OMT and OMV short
version motors are offered for this combina-
tion. These motors can be used with wheel
gear and many other combinations.

OMSU/OMTU/OMVU – ultrashort motors
Motors with ultra-short installation dimensions,
i.e. without bearings and output shaft, ensure
optimum space utilisation. These are used in
contractors’ machines such as vibratory road
rollers.
OMT V – motor with integrated flushing valve
In closed circuits, such as transmission systems,
the oil temperature can exceed the recom-
mended level. A hydraulic motor with flushing
valve is the answer. The valve ensures that the
oil is continuously replaced, and thereby
cooled and cleaned.

OMS H – slewing motor
Slewing operations on small excavators make

hydraulic motors is concerned. Sauer-Danfoss
slewing motors are adapted to reduce internal
leakage and are thus specially suitable for the
slewing function.

Motors with integrated brakes
The range of hydraulic motors from Sauer-
Danfoss also includes units with integrated hol-
ding brake designed to mechanically lock the
output shaft of a motor when its system is in
neutral.
OMT FX/OMT FL/ OMT FH – with integrated
negative holding brake
Motor types OMT FX and OMT FL with inte-
grated negative holding brake are used,
typically, in hydrostatic transmissions. These
motor types meet the requirements of the
EU Machine Directive which specifies that self-
propelled machines be fitted with emergency

brakes and parking brakes. Where open circuits
are concerned, the braking motor must be able
to withstand maximum working pressure. The
Sauer-Danfoss OMT FH motor satisfies this
demand.
OMR F – with integrated negative
holding brake
The OMR motor with integrated negative
holding brake is for use when a load is to be
held in position indefinitely. The brake function
is based on a spring-applied, multiple-disc
brake which releases when hydraulic pressure
is fed to the brake release port.
