f = 8 cms
3cms

1cm
5cms

20cms

The pendulum swings 1cm on either side as shown. So, the width of the swing of the pendulum is
1+1 = 2 cms. Now answer the questions below

01. The width of swing of the image of pendulum is approximately

(A) 2 cms (B) 1.85 cms (C) 2. 15 cms (D) 1 cm

02. The image of the pendulum is

(A) inverted, real and magnified (B) inverted, real and diminished
(C) erect, real and magnified (D) erect, virtual and diminished.

03. If water flows from right of the mirror to the left, what happens to the image?
f = 8 cms
3cms

water

1cm
5cms

20cms

(A) It would be at the same position (B) It moves away from the mirror
(C) It moves close to the mirror (D) can not be determined

For questions 4 to 6, read the following and answer the questions below. Each question has
ONLY ONE correct option

Two small smooth spheres A and B initially separated by 13 m are traveling towards each
other. Sphere A is of mass 10 grams and is traveling towards left at 2 m/s and acceleration of 0.5
m/s2. Sphere B is of mass 20 grams and is traveling towards right at 3m/s and an acceleration of
1m/s2. Note that the acceleration and velocity are in the direction of motion.
After the collision, the spheres travel with uniform velocity. Velocity of sphere A is 3 m/s
towards right. Kinetic energy of a body of mass m and traveling with speed v is given by ½ mv2.
Now answer the questions below.

04. Velocity of sphere B after collision is

(A) 2 m/s towards right (B) 2.5 m/s towards left
(C) 2 m/s towards left (D) 2.5 m/s towards right

05. Kinetic energy lost by the spheres during collision is

(A) 0.21 Joules (B) 0.25 Joules (C) 0.125 Joules (D) 0 Joules

06. Usually, some energy is lost during collision. This energy is mainly utilized for
(A) heat (B) sound (C) deformation (D) light

For questions 7 to 9, read the following and answer the questions below. Few questions may
have MORE THAN ONE correct option

Direction of magnetic field

BATTERY

The cylindrical resistance is connected to a battery as shown above. The direction of

magnetic field is shown in the figure.

07. The direction of current in the resistance is

(A) From left to right (B) From right to left
(C) From top to bottom (D) From bottom to top

08. The strength of magnetic field is increased by

(A) increasing radius of the resistance (B) decreasing radius of the resistance
(C) increasing length of the resistance (D) decreasing length of the resistance

09. If a magnet is placed below the wire, what happens to the magnet?
(A) It moves in clockwise direction (B) It moves in anticlockwise direction
(C) It does not revolve (D) The direction of magnet cannot be known.
