STATDISK is a software program designed specifically for use with textbooks in t
he Triola Statistics Series:
* Elementary Statistics
* Elementary Statistics Using Excel¨
* Essentials of Statistics
* Elementary Statistics Using the Graphing Calculator: For the TI-83/84 Plus
* Biostatistics for the Biological and Health Sciences
STATDISK is referenced throughout the textbooks, and can be used for nearly all
of the statistical procedures in the books. All of the data sets from Appendix B
are included within STATDISK.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS - WINDOWS:
- Operating System - STATDISK is for Windows 2000, XP (with Service Pack 2 or gr
eater), Windows VIsta, or Windows 7
- RAM - In addition to the RAM required by the operating system your computer is
running, STATDISK requires 64MB of RAM.
- 30MB of available hard-disk space
- CD-ROM Drive
- No Internet connection needed, but can be used for automatic update checking
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS - MACINTOSH:
-Statdisk is a Universal Binary application
- Operating System - STATDISK is for OS X 10.4 or later
- Processor - PowerPC Macintosh, including G3, G4, and G5; Intel Macintosh
- RAM - In addition to the RAM required by the operating system your computer is
running, STATDISK requires 64MB of RAM.
- 30MB of available hard-disk space
- CD-ROM Drive
- No Internet connection needed, but can be used for automatic update checking

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1.)Insert the STATDISK CD in the CD-ROM Drive.
2.)Double click the "My Computer" icon on your desktop (Windows) or open a Finde
r window (Macintosh).
3.)Double click on your CD-ROM Drive icon. This will open a window containing th
e contents of this CD.
4.)Double click on the "Software" Folder. This will display the contents of that
folder.
5.)Double click the "STATDISK" Folder. This will display the contents of that fo
lder.
6.)Double click on the file that corresponds to your operating system. Drag the
Statdisk executable to your hard drive to install it.

PROGRAM INSTRUCTIONS:
After the program is installed you can start it by double clicking on the execut
able.

PRINTING:
If using Print buttons on the module window does not result in a satisfactory re
sult, use your system's 'printscreen' key to copy the screen to a clipboard so t
hat the screen can then be pasted to any document or picture editor.

New features:
Do more with your results: Most results are now presented as text, allowing you
to copy for use in Word documents, homework, etc. These windows have new 'copy'
and 'print' buttons as well as the ability to select and copy text from the res
ults or right-click to copy all the results. All non-text results (graphs and p
lots) also now have copy and save buttons.
New sample editor - Statdisk now supports up to 64 columns of data and much impr
oved data entry. There are now empty rows added to the end of your data to enab
le ease of data entry and editing. This does not affect results and automatical
ly occurs on: opentextfile, opening datasets from the menu or browser, pasting
data.
Normality assessment is a new test available from the Data menu (see its help se
ction for more info).
All graphs have been overhauled. Normal Quantile plots, scatterplots, and all l
ine plots are now using a new graphing system (DataPlotClasses 1.1). Boxplot no
w includes a new variation: modified boxplot.
11 ed data sets are included. 11ed data sets with more than 9 columns are inclu
ded as a single set now that Statdisk can handle up to 64 columns
New features were added to the data tools button: 'Add columns or rows' and 'Ex
plore Data'.
Explore Data and Descriptive Statistics now include the Coeff. of Var.
