Greeting from Indonesia

Helo Turkey, this is my first time i go to Turkey, my name is Chriscahyanti Sofi Justisia,
maybe it’s hard to pronounce in Turkish, just call me Sofi, and i’m Indonesian. I’m from
Indonesia, and live in biggest island in Indonesia which is Java Island, especially in East
Java. Now, i’m majoring International Relations at Airlangga University, Surabaya, East Java,
Indonesia. And this would be my second year at university. I was born in Surabaya, which is
the capital city of East Java, 23rd January 1992 and now i’m studying in Airlangga
University in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. I’m majoring International Relations, and this
year would be my second year at university. Indonesia is a nice place to be visited, because
it’s quite different with European countries. Indonesia has a lot of beaches, because it’s
surrounded by the ocean and the sea also. It is located in South Asia, and Malay Archipelago.
It has more than 18,000 islands, and more than 6,000 islands are still inhabited, so Indonesia
also referred into Nusantara. Indonesia is between Indian and Pacific Ocean, and near with
Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, and also Philipines. The capital city of Indonesia is Jakarta,
every governmental administratives, embassies, central companies and factory, also
entertainment centre are located there. Among thousands islands, Indonesia has major islands
such as Sumatra, Java, Bali, Papua, Sulawesi, Borneo, Papua. Indonesia has a motto, we call
it “Bhineka Tunggal Ika” which means Unity in Diversity. And from the recent facts i got,
Indonesia place the third biggest population in the world after China and India. Indonesia is
an unique country, even they have many differences between each other, but they still can
live together. There are five religions which is recognized by the government which are
Moeslim, Christian, Catholic, Hindust, and Buddhist. Mostly, Indonesian people are
moeslems and being the biggest moeslem population in the world, but Indonesia is not a
moeslem country. And the government, Indonesia is a republic state, and using democracy
through directly election for president and parliamen also. Different with Turkey, Indonesia
only has two seasons, rainy and dry, with the tropical climate because near with equator line,
one of the place in Borneo, which is Pontianak is located in the equator line, so that place is
hotter than the others. Dry season starts from April-November, and rainy season starts from
last November untill early April. Indonesia has more than 66 volcanoes there, so potentially
the earthquake happens. Indonesia has also a lot of animals and plant species, in Borneo, it
has many tropical rain forest which the habitat of Orang Utan which is predicted extint, so
United Nation create a foundation to keep it. Indonesia has many beautiful beaches, but the
most famous beaches are in Bali. Many tourists come to Bali to feeling the warm sun, seeing
sun rise and sun set, doing water sport, and also relaxation with special spa traditional
treatment from Bali, Indonesia.
Indonesian really honor their differences, we proud even we are different but we can
live together, with respecting each others. Indonesia has many traditional language, like
Javanesse, Sundanesse, Balinesse, etc. Indonesian people eat rice as the main food for them,
and adding meat, chicken, seafood, duck, vegetables, and also chilies to their food.
Indonesian has many traditional clothes and its region has different traditional clothes,
example in Java they have kebaya, in Papua they have koteka, and many else, but national
clothes of Indonesia is batik. Batik is a handmade, and being one of precious and valuable
heritage from ancestor. Batik is made by using traditional wax-resist dyeing technique, so the
price is quite expensive. Not only batik, we have kain tenun which is producted in Sulawesi
and Sumatra. Indonesia is an unique country, it has many natural resources with beautiful
scenery like canyon, waterfall, mountains, lake, beaches, and many else. Indonesia mixes the
modern life and traditional life, so everyone can enjoy their holiday without leaving the
