I. INTRODUCTION
NetBackup Client software allows you to perform user-directed
backup, archive, and restore operations on entire directories or
individual files that reside on your client system.
You can start backups, archives and restores directly from a
NetBackup client, without logging into the NetBackup server. After
a user operation is started, it runs under the control of the
NetBackup server. You request the service and the server manages
the rest, including storage and retrieval of data.
In NetBackup terminology, the system that requires the backup
or archive is the client. The system that manages the storage and
retrieval of the backup data is called the NetBackup server.

II. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Please refer to the NetBackup Release Notes.
NOTE - the NetBackup 6.5 client software will only work with
NetBackup 6.5 server software or later.

III. INSTALL
Local Installation
Follow these instructions to install the NetBackup browser on your
computer. You may abort the installation process at any time by
pressing Cancel.
1. Insert the NetBackup Client setup media.
2. Execute the program Launch.bat.
3. Follow the prompts.
4. Refer to the Local Installation Instructions in the NetBackup for
Microsoft Windows Client Chapter in the "NetBackup
Installation Guide - PC Clients" for additional installation
instructions.
Remote Installation
Remote installations can only be done using Windows machines using
32 bit i386 processors.
 1. Insert the NetBackup Client setup media.
2. Execute the program Launch.bat.
3. Follow the prompts
4. Refer to the Remote Installation Instructions in the NetBackup for
Microsoft Windows Client Chapter in the "NetBackup
Installation Guide - PC Clients" for additional installation
instructions.

IV. UNINSTALL
1. Select the 'Add/Remove Programs' applet from the 'Control Panel.'
2. Select the 'Install/Uninstall' tab or button.
3. Select 'Symantec NetBackup Client' from the list of installed
applications.
4. Select the 'Remove' button to uninstall the NetBackup Client.
