Surety Bond

(To be executed on stamp paper worth Rs. 50/-)

Memorandum of Agreement between _________________________ and the University of

Peshawar made this day of_______________________________________________.
Whereas ____________________________S/D/O______________________ resident of
_______________________________________________________(hereinafter referred to as the
AWARDEE which expression shall include his/her heirs/successors and Legal
Representatives) of the First Part has been awarded scholarship by the University of
Peshawar (hereinafter refereed to as University which expression shall include its
successors in office) of the Second Part, for PhD in the field of _________________at
the University of ________________________________, now, therefore, in consideration of
the said scholarship, the awardee agrees and undertakes as follows:

1. He/She shall faithfully conform to and abide by the instructions issued with
regard to his/her studies by the University during the period of his/her
scholarship subsistence and shall wholeheartedly and diligently engage
himself/herself in the studies, training and research work pertaining to the course
and shall take tests and examinations as may be prescribed.
2. He/She shall confine his/her studies to the assigned field and shall not change it
without the prior permission of the University.
3. He/She will be recalled if his/her academic progress is not satisfactory.
4. He/She shall be bound to serve the University for a period of five years after
his/her return from abroad on successful completion of study/training and such
period shall commence form the date the AWARDEE joins duty in the University,
against any suitable post of which the University shall be the sole judge, and
upon such terms and conditions as the University may prescribe.
5. Upon his/her return from study, he/she shall have no right to claim higher pay or
seniority over others and account of the said study.
6. In the event of breach of any of the aforesaid terms if the AWARDEE fails to
report for duty or if he/she leaves the service of the University for whatever
reason before the expiry of bond period, the AWARDEE binds himself/herself
firmly to pay on demand a sum of Rs. 1,000,000/- (Rs. One million) and the total
scholarship amount as liquidated damages and not as a penalty to the University
of Peshawar, in addition to any amount paid to him /her or /his/ her dependents
by the University of Peshawar during his/ her study/training abroad.
7. In the event of a civil suit against the AWARDEE or the sureties or both, the Civil
Courts of Peshawar only shall have the jurisdiction to adjudicate upon the matter.

In witness thereof, he/she has produced two sureties who shall be responsible and
stand bound by the agreement and guarantee that the AWARDEE shall perform
his/her projects faithfully and in case he/she fails to do so, the SURETIES shall
indemnify and pay to the University of Peshawar of the aforesaid amount in default
of payment by the AWARDEE.

Solemnly declared that I will submit my accepted resignation from

In the event of failure to do so, I bind myself to pay on demand a sum of the total
scholarship amount as liquidated damages and not as a penalty to the University of
Peshawar in addition to amount paid to me by the University of Peshawar during my
study / training abroad.
