Project Experience in Solar Photovoltaic Power Plants

On going solar power project development under National Solar Mission

• End to end consultancy in Rajasthan for development of 10MW and 5MW solar
PV power projects for two clients. Prepared DPR, secured approval for
government land on lease and the approval for power evacuation from the state
transmission utitlity. Both the Clients will be applying to NVVN under JNNSM.

• Feasibility Study for site selection and solar resource assessment near
Hyderabad for a client based out of Kuwait. Report submitted and process is on to
develop a 2MW solar power project at the site through roof top PV and small solar
generation programme of MNRE under JNNSM.

• Developing 10MW solar PV power project in Gujarat. PPA has been signed in
May 2010. Site selection and solar resource assessment studies have been
completed. Bankable DPR is being prepared.

• Rajasthan Solar Processing Zone (Raj SPZ) – being developed on 630 acres land
(where ground water is available) near Ramdevra, Jaisalmer District which has the
best solar raidiation in India. Sites of minimum 30 acres being allotted for various
project developers to apply to NVVN under the National Solar Mission. Raj SPZ
offers common approvals (land use conversion, power evacuation etc) and ready
made infrastructure consisting of land development (boundary fencing, internal
roads, yard lighting, borewells and water etc) and power evacuation arrangement
(internal 33kV lines, 132kV pooling substation, 132kV line from Raj SPZ to 132kV
grid substation in Pokhran). Project has secured the approval of Bureau of
Investment Promotion and Commissioner of Industries, Government of Rajasthan to
avail incentives under the Investment Promotion Policy 2003. Raj SPZ is being
developed by Shri Shakti Alternative Energy Ltd in association with Ashapurna
Group, Jodhpur and Volksgeld Energy (India) Ltd. Master Planning and Architecture
by Sanjay Prakash & Associates Pvt Ltd, New Delhi.

• Design, Engineering, Procurement and Construction, Operation and

Maintenance of 2 nos of 25KW standalone Solar PV Power Plants with 25 kWp
Solar Array, and 3nos of 15 kVA solar inverters with charge controller and data
capture and monitoring through AES Quick Link Software, 120 Volt, 1600 Ah Battery
Bank for two days autonomy. Supply included Solar Distillation plant. Additional

• Solar Power Plants for Remote Village Electrification in Chattisgarh state in

India with Capacity of 3 kWp Solar Array (Hidkapur) and 2kW Solar Array (Katrel) ,
48 Volt, 900 Ah Battery Bank with Four days autonomy. Contract period: 2003-04.
Total Project Contact amount is INR 1.6 million with two-year warranty period. More

• Grid Connected Roof Top Solar Power Plants for a Public School under Hire
Purchase Scheme through IREDA under World Bank line of credit. Project
consisted of 2 nos of Solar PV Power Plants with 2.2 kWp Solar Array and 4.5kVA
grid interactive inverters from Xantrex, 48V 600Ah battery bank for powering the
computers and stand by power for the office. 15nos of standalone street lights for

• Village Electrification Projects in Arunachal Pradesh, India at - New Elope

(2.5kW Solar Array, 48V 500Ah battery bank for 3 days autonomy, local distribution
line laid and supply given to 28 Nos. households, one primary school & 18 Nos.
Street Lights); New Aloni (2.5kW Solar Array, 48V 400Ah battery bank for 3 days
autonomy, local distribution line laid and supply given to 17 Nos Households and 15
Nos. Street Lights; and at Kambang Village (2.5kW Solar Array, 48V 700Ah battery
bank for 3 days autonomy, local distribution line laid and supply given to 14 Nos.

• Developed DPR to Photovoltaic Market Transformation Initiative (PVMTI) of

IFC, Washington and achieved financial closure. Planned the project to leverage
the marketing and distribution network of Shri Shakti LPG Ltd to sell solar
photovoltaic and alternative energy products. Prepared the marketing plan and the
DPR, vendor selection, logical framework analysis for training and market research
activities, environmental impact assessment etc. Answered all the queries as a part
of the technical and financial due diligence. Achieved financial closure for a soft loan
and grant amounting to USD 2.20 million.
