MWF aspires in providing sustainable and long term projects for developing nations and in
particular its main focus is tackling deprivation and global poverty. As a charity we envisage in
providing a more prosperous and safer world through great transparency of welfare activities in
the third world.
MWF has provided emergency relief to areas hit by disasters in recent years including:
Afghanistan, Palestine, Indonesia, Kashmir, Haiti, Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq and many more.
Currently MWF is in the process of providing a unique ‘Aghosh’ Orphan Care Home which will
cater and house 500 orphans from the recent Pakistan floods which left had over 1.3 million
children parentless. This unique project will provide every Orphan with free education from
primary level up to University level, giving those less fortunate in society an opportunity to live in
a more sustainable environment.
Pakistan is considered an economically deprived nation which has faced many obstacles politically
and financially in recent years. The floods had a crippling effect on the economy in a country
which already has seen the rise of food prices increase. One of the core reasons for the rising food
prices are due to the damaged crops in which 1.3 million acres of crops was estimated to be
completely destroyed.
Flood waters roared down from the North to Punjab and on to Sindh along a trail more than 1,000
km (600 miles) long, spreading the disaster further. Minhaj Welfare Foundation initiated its relief
operations in the districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhah expanding its relief efforts to Sindh.
