Kristin Quick Honored


as Sports Faith International
Ave Maria Rising Star

Kristin Quick of Warsaw Community High School, in Warsaw, Indiana, was honored with
an Ave Maria Rising Star Award by Sports Faith International at a ceremony at Halas Hall,
home of the Chicago Bears. The ceremony will also honor Sports Faith Hall of Fame inductees
including Pittsburgh Steelers patriarch, Art Rooney, baseball star, Jamie Moyer, and Major
League Baseball veteran coach Rich Donnelly. Some 20-plus athletes and coaches will accept
the High School All-Star award for their passion, faith, dedication, excellence in ability and
leadership on their teams.

Quick, who plays Varsity Track, Varsity Cross Country at Warsaw Community High School,
was selected amongst 19 athletes that represent some of the best and brightest in Prep School
athletics. Beyond their accomplishments on the field, the winners achieved outstanding
grades with GPAs above 3.0.

The Award was presented at a Luncheon at Country Squire Restaurant in Grayslake


followed by a Mass and the Hall of Fame Induction ceremony at Halas Hall, home of the
Chicago Bears by Patrick McCaskey, Chairman of Sports Faith International.

“Kristin Quick’s outstanding and humble dedication to her team and the values they hold
on and off the field is becoming more and more a rarity amongst coaches and athletes. Her
nomination and success on the team are a tribute to her faith and commitment,” Said SFI
founder, Patrick McCaskey.

The Ceremony took place February 27, 2011 with a Luncheon at Country Squire
Restaurant in Grayslake, IL and a Mass and awards presentation at Halas Hall in Lake Forest,
IL.

Sports Faith International and the Sports Faith Hall of Fame: The Sports Faith Hall of
Fame was created in 2008 by Sports Faith International to recognize world-class athletes who
are known for outstanding dedication to sports and their faith. Sports Faith International is a
new media initiative dedicated to utilizing traditional and new media to showcase the
connection between sports and faith. Programs for Catholic and mainstream media networks
will feature some of the biggest names in the world of sports. Sports have been called a
metaphor for life that can teach perseverance, discipline, loyalty, trust, dedication, and fair
play. The shows will serve as a platform to discuss the many virtues and life lessons that can
be learned from sports. It is part of BVM HELPING HANDS, a 501(c)3, tax-exempt
organization.
