1) Turnover Dates
The Jersey Retail Sales Survey is a retrospective quarterly survey, where Quarter 1 is 1 Jan to 31 March, Quarter 2 is 1 April to
30 June, Quarter 3 is 1 July to 30 September and Quarter 4 is 1 October to 31 December. If your return covers a different 3-
month period, please give the dates covered by the return.
Please exclude:
• Sales or commission on lottery tickets
• Receipts from credit card sales NOT made in this quarter
• Any health exemption receipts
• Sales of motor vehicles, parts, accessories and petrol
• Sales from catering facilities to customers
• Sales from other business trading on your premises (e.g. a shop-within-shop) and any commission received
on such sales – unless this reporting structure has been agreed with the Statistics Unit
• Any non retail activity (e.g. manufacturing).
4) Business Sectors
