HOME REMEDIES

Are you the kind of person who goes rushing down to the doctor or to your local
drugstore every time you don´t feel well? If you are, you could save yourself a lot
of money by trying some of these home remedies.

Cough
Drink some bougainvillea and cinnamon tea. Take 3 or 4 purple bougainvillea
leaves and a stick of cinnamon and boil them in 200 ml of water for 10 minutes.
Remove the leaves and cinnamon and add a spoon of honey. Drink the rea hot.
Remember to keep you body warm. Don´t have cold drinks, and avoid big changes
in temperature.

Headache

Drink one or two glasses of water and rest. If you can, you should try to sleep.
Don’t drink coffee. Don´t read or watch TV. Sometimes people get headaches
because they are stressed. A hot Shower can help.

Burns

There are different options and beliefs about the best way to treat a burn. Some
suggest rubbing a few drops of oil on the area. Other people recommend abundant
cold water to cool the area. Some people also recommend putting some mustard on
the burn.

Insomnia

It´s a good idea to drink a glass of warm milk before going to bed. Stay away from
tea, coffee or cola at least 3 hours before bedtime. Another good idea is to have a
hot shower just before going to bed. It´s also a good idea to go to bed at a regular
time every night.

Cold or flu

One good idea is to drink a bowl of chicken soup. It helps people breathe. Others
recommend lemon juice and a spoon of honey in hot water. Garlic is very good to help
you breathe better, but it fives you bad breath. You should also keep yourself warm and
get lots of rest. Take a vitamin C tablet every day.

Stomachache

Generally, you should try to avoid heavy food. Don´t eat spicy or fatty food, and
especially stay away from junk food. If you already have a stomachache, drink some
chamomile tea.
