Asian Network for Quality (ANQ) consisting of all non-profit organizations in Asia that seek
to improve quality of human life by contributing to the progress of science and technology;

The success rate of implementing Quality Assurance and Management programs is around 20-30% in organizations. The cases
where these programs fail, it is most often not because of the insufficient Standards, Models or Frameworks that are being
followed (e.g. ISO 9000, FSMS 22000, ISO 17025, HEC’s Self Assessment Criteria, EQA or Baldrige Quality Awards), but because
these models or tools are not effectively Implemented within various organizational dynamics and management set-ups. This
presentation provides insight into TQM Implementation as well as introduces a Framework termed as ‘MSAC’ which may be
highly valuable for organizations in improving the success rate of QM/QA deployment in their companies.
The President of IAQ, world’s most prestigious organization of Quality Gurus and Academicians, talk about the sensitive issues
of Quality Management, especially during the present difficult times of global recession. The speaker explores the nature of
required changes and strategies in organizations, particularly related to Quality, Customers, Business Systems and Work
Environment. He explains how Quality Strategy can be linked with the organizations’ Management Strategy for assuring the
development of a reliable organization from the viewpoint of its customers.
In the aftermath of the Economic crisis, Asia has led the economic recovery and provided stability to the world economic
order. It has shown the resilience of the Asian economies that have been growing at a rapid pace. With this growth and
leadership comes the responsibility for sustainable development that would contribute to the wellbeing of all sections of the
society, particularly those who are vulnerable. The Chairperson of Asian Network for Quality (ANQ) shares his views on the
current socio economic scene in Asia and how to overcome it with the power of Quality strategies and processes.
With his outstanding role in the development of national competitiveness in Japan, USA, India and many other
countries, Prof Shoji has received Deming Award in Japan and known for his outstanding work in Visionary
Leadership and Breakthrough Management. He has specially helped the Indian National Manufacturing
Competitiveness Council in developing Visionary Leaders for Manufacturing Program (VLMP). His world
renowned book ‘Breakthrough Management’ is used vastly used in the corporate and academic world.

As a national expert in the field of Quality, Mian Salimuddin headed a National Committee on Quality and Competitiveness
formed by the National Commission of Pakistan. The committee formulated a National Quality Improvement Plan titled as
‘ExcelPakistan’. This plan includes a nation-wide development of Quality aiming towards a ‘World Class Pakistan’. He shares
this committee’s output and explains its key points with a new paradigm for growth of Quality in the country as a Society to be
directed towards Excellence.
The speaker is the Regional CEO, Health Services Asia (Aga Khan University Hospital & FMIC Afghanistan). Aga Khan is one of most
prominent organizations in Pakistan acting as a role model for TQM in its true spirit. With a wealth of experience as a successful
CEO and the Coordinator for Continuous Quality Improvement programs in his hospitals, he explains the most important aspects of
leadership necessary for the growth of Quality enhancement in organizations coupled with an organizational social framework
derived from Islamic religion.
Quality of Life (QoL) is a multidimensional and emerging concept in the field of Quality, encompassing the society and social
patterns. With a broad based involvement in the social dimension of the society as well as in the field of Quality Management,
Dr. Awais integrates these two dimensions using the concepts of QoL. He discusses various elements of life, like economic
wellness, environmental wellness, physical wellness, Mental wellness, workplace wellness, social wellness, political wellness
etc. Based on discussion on QoL, the speaker presents a small “ Reform Agenda” to improve QoL of people of Pakistan.
With the development, deployment and sustenance of TQM in Indus Motors Company Ltd., Ilyas Suri shares his 20 years of
history of TQM in the company. He shares the successes and challenges as well as the strategies and processes of Quality
related programs of his company to attain the status of ‘World Class’. He describes the best practices established in Indus
Motor Company Limited and particularly dwell on two areas firstly development of company culture and secondly
development of local manufacturers and key partners in technology and progress.

explores the history of business excellence and review where we are today and what the future holds. Drawing off the

explains recent innovations in ‘Benchmarking’ across the world which has led it to become one of the key tools of business
excellence. He also shares his views on the steps to be taken to become world-class.
Thal Engineering is a successful and renowned company in Pakistan in the application of modern Quality Assurance and
Management tools and frameworks. The company’s CEO describes the journey of his company and how the right culture was
developed which carried the company over a century forward. The company achieved remarkable milestones and grew from
a 48 people/Rs. 300 million company to Rs. 6 billion with 1000 employees in the last 15 years. The speakers shares his success
story on building the right type of Quality Culture, the most important ingredient for the growth of Quality in companies.
Prof. Eltigani is an Academic, Researcher and Practitioner in Quality Management and one of the pioneering figures in making
the intellectual argument for Quality in the Arab World and in the implementation of Business Excellence Model in UAE and
the region. He shares the activities for performance excellence in education by the Abu Dhabi government in particular and
UAE in general.
