Services for the week 19 - 27 March 2011
The Sanctuary Lamp will burn this week for Vinnie Robinson
Lenten Fast Day: There will be a retiring collection after Mass this weekend for the Lenten Fast Day on
Friday last. Those of you who took an envelope last week can return it today or next week. Please us the
Gift-aid envelopes if you are a taxpayer.
Catechists’ Meeting: There will be a meeting of all those who help with the Children’s Church on
Wednesday of this week (23rd March) at 7.30pm in the Presbytery to help plan for Easter. If you feel you can
help in any way (even keeping an eye on the little ones!) then please do come along. It doesn’t mean you
will be asked to do any teaching. The new Sacramental programmes will require many more people so this
is a good way of becoming involved.
Bishop’s Visit: On Friday afternoon of this week (25th March) Bishop Tom Williams will be visiting Our
Lady’s School as part of the Archbishop’s visitation of our Pastoral Area. Please keep all involved in the life
of our school in your prayers at this time.
Legion of Mary: The Annual Acies Mass will take place on Friday 25th March at 7.00pm at English
Martyrs’, Haydock.
Reconciliation Service: In addition to the weekly times of Confession, there will be an additional Service of
Reconciliation taking place here on Wednesday 13th April at 7.30pm. This will be a service for all the
parishes in the Ashton area, with an opportunity for individual confession. It will take the place of our
normal Novena that night.
Chrism Mass: A coach will be leaving Our Lady’s to go to the Chrism Mass at the Cathedral on
Wednesday 20th April at 7.30pm. If you wish to go, please add your name to the list in the porch.
Last week’s collection: Gift Aid: £342.08; Loose Plate: £259.09; Total: £601.17. Many thanks.
Question of the Week: How has faith in Jesus transformed you? What difference does your faith in Jesus
Christ make in your life?
Your Parish Priest: Fr John Gorman
