The Independent Voice of Vacation Ownership
Correction
In the Jan/Feb, 2002 issue,
Timesharing Today wrote that the
State of Florida had filed charges
against Timeshares Direct, Inc.,
d/b/a Timeshares by Owner. This
appears to have been inaccurate.
After an investigation of the
company’s business practices was
initiated by Florida’s Attorney Gen-
eral, a settlement was reached prior
to any court proceedings being insti-
tuted or charges being filed.
Timeshares by Owner agreed to
modify its business practices with-
out admitting any wrongdoing. The
$50,000 provided by the company for
consumer refunds, as part of the
settlement agreement with the State,
has been fully expended.
