Write-up on Cyber threat:
With growing dependency of world on networked information and communication tech
nologies (ICT), new threats to network and information security have emerged and
there is ever-growing vulnerability to Cyber Crime. There is therefore a need
to create awareness on threats posted by cyber crime and the challenge it poses
to the security of Information Systems.
The Internet Revolution is like a double-edged sword in that while, on the one h
and, it has brought about widespread socio-economic benefits to even the most re
mote corners of the world, it has on the other hand also empowered those who see
k to destroy and disrupt. As such, regional and international cooperation is nec
essary in the tackling of cyber-crimes and attacks which are often trans-nationa
l in nature.
