Beginner Art Techniques


In this hour long class, students draw a variety of subject matter ranging from animals,
cartoons, landscapes, still life and the works/styles of the great masters. By using an
instructor directed step-by-step process, students become more confident while learn
the basics of drawing.  Creativity and individuality is encouraged through the use of a
variety of media including colored pencil, charcoal, markers, pastels and watercolor
paints.

Tuition: $18.00 per class Materials Fee: $10 (one time charge) Limit: 6 students

Advanced Art Techniques
In this 90 minute class, students will advance their skills to develop their own style, gaining
confidence in their artwork.   In this class, students work individually with guidance provided
as needed.  More emphasis is placed on visual training and planning as well as shading
and composition.  Students are encouraged to experiment with all available media.

Comic Books 101


Want to learn all the basics of comic art and cartooning? In the class, all the cartooning
secrets revealed! Taught by Al Bigley, a local commercial artist who has worked for Marvel
Comics, CTW, Disney, DC Comics (home of Batman), Archie Comics, and so many more!
Whether you like funny animals, superheroes, Manga, cars, or your own creations, you'll
learn a wealth of cartooning knowledge to make you an even better artist!

Enrollment: Our Art Classes need at least 3 students to run. In the event that a class does not meet
enrollment, the lesson will be cancelled for that week. Parents will be given at least 7 days notice if a class is
cancelled and refunded tuition for that lesson date.

Lesson Commitments: Enrolling in lessons is a commitment to each session. This is both for the benefit of
the teacher and the student. Students must commit to at least 5 Art lessons during our summer session.

Family Incentive: We truly appreciate your familyʼs business! Enroll one student from your family and each
additional student will receive 10% off their tuition. Limit is one discount per student.

Make-Ups: As we schedule our summer art classes on a lesson-by-lesson basis, there are no make-ups
during our summer session. We understand that there are, at times, extenuating circumstances. If such an
occasion arises, a partial refund will be given. All lessons missed due to inclement weather and instructor
absence will be made up.

Payment: Tuition is due on the first lesson of each month. A $10 late fee will be charged if payment is not
received within a week of its due date. Parents have the option of paying month to month or as a full session.
We accept Visa, Master Card and NC checks.

Times: Please do your best to be on time. Many of our lessons are scheduled back to back. While we will do
our best to be accommodating, our instructors may not be able to make-up for lost time.

Behavior: We are committed to providing top quality lessons in a positive and encouraging atmosphere.
Students are expected to help maintain this atmosphere by listening and following directions. Should a
studentʼs behavior be deemed unacceptable, a meeting with the student, parent and instructor will be held. If
it is found that the behavior cannot be rectified, the student will be dismissed and the parent shall be given a
partial refund.

Liability: Greenhorn Studios is not liable for any accidents or injuries sustained in our studio. It is the
parentʼs responsibility to notify the studio of any serious allergies or medications the students may require.
