Call for Papers


1 General Description
The Colombian Computing Congress is the opportunity for the Colombian computing
academic and scientific community to meet and share experiences. It is held every year
under the auspices of the Colombian Computing Society - SCo2. This event is aimed at
comprising all the meaningful contributions produced in the country in the areas of

1.2 Submission Guidelines: Full papers should be maximum six pages long,
including references, graphics and annexes. Papers can be written in Spanish or English.
Spanish Papers must include title, abstract, and keywords in English.They must consist of

Web site 1.3 Ongoing Research Papers. Authors interested in submitting their ongoing
www.6ccc.org projects can send their proposals. Full papers should be maximum four pages long.
Accepted proposals will be presented as posters and will be included in the CD ROM
proceedings, but not in IEEE Explore form.
1.4 Thematic Discussions. They include research works focused on a particular
topic and consists of four to six presentations. Researchers interested in participating in
an invited session, please contact the congress academic coordinator via e-
mail:luisfercastillo@gmail.com, ndduqueme@unal.edu.co

1.5 Master and Doctoral Symposium. It is intended to have a space for Master
and PhD students to present their research advances in the area before a group of
distinguished PhDs in Colombia. Students interested in participating, please contact the
congress academic coordinator or professors via e-mail: María Patricia Trujillo

1.6 Submission Guidelines. Full papers should be sent in a PDF file by using the
file management system of the congress (http://www.6ccc.org). The first submitted
versions of papers will not include names or authors’ affiliation in order to have to blind
selection process.

1.7 Assessment Process. Papers will be assessed by two or three members of the
program committee. Assessment will take into account novelty, technical depth,
presentation and the impact of the approaches proposed by the authors.

1.8 Publication and proceedings. All accepted papers will be fully published in
IEEE Xplore and in CDROM with ISBN Number. It is mandatory that at least one of the
authors is timely registered and committed to present the research work. Papers non-
selected for IEEE Xplore publication would be evaluated to be published in any of the
following journals: eMinds, International Journal on Human-Computer Interaction,
Revista Colombiana de Computación, Revista de Engenharia e Tecnologia (in
Portuguese).

1.9 Important dates

• Paper submission deadline: January 16, 2011


• Proposals to special sessions deadline: January 20, 2011
• Notification of acceptance: March 15, 2011
• Author’ registration deadline: March 25, 2011
• Congress date: May 4, 5 and 6, 2011
