Mutual respect has been continuing in both families for generation.

My

father, a leading Business man in Coonoor, wanted me to attend the

business after my 8th Standard, as I was the only son. Chinnasamy

Naicker, who used to stay in their bungalow at Coonoor during the

vacation, learning about my father’s decision informed my father that he

was adopting me for purposes of providing higher education, took care

of all my educational needs from 8th Standard to M.Com., The love and

affection he showered on me from 1964 to 1974, had no bounds. This

Hindu Philanthrophist was responsible for my education. My academic

College only. There were 6 Teachers in Management Studies and 72 Teachers in
other Subjects studying M.Phil., Part – Time during 2008-2010.

The copies of the certificates and The Hindu paper news are enclosed

in this reply.

After joining Jamal Mohamed College as a Lecturer in Commerce, in June

1974, with a M.Com., degree, over a period of 36 years I completed the above

courses by hard and sincere efforts. I have the passion for learning which is a

life - long process. A successful teacher is one who learns to acquaint himself

with latest developments for the benefit of the students.

Being designated as a Cost and Management Accountant, at present I am

serving as the Chairman of the Tiruchy Chapter of Cost and Works Accountants

of India. I am imparting education during Saturdays and Sundays to the Cost

Accountancy students of Intermediate class.

While in College, I became a student of PGDCA (Evening College One Year)

and M.Phil., in Management Studies ( Part- Time – 2 Years). Like all students I

attended the classes along with other students and wrote examinations with

them. There are separate Chief Superintendents for the conduct of

Examinations in the College, which is Autonomous. The Principal has no role in

the Examination process. My priorities are duty, dignity and discipline. I

sincerely follow these principles in life. It is my life ambition that the same is

practiced and adhered to by all Teachers and Students in the campus. During

2008, there were 78 Part-Time Scholars admitted for pursuing M.Phil.,

Programmes on Part – Time basis including 6 in Management Studies. Among

the programmes offered, M.Phil., in Management Studies both in Full – Time

and Part-Time, is offered only in Jamal Mohamed College . To avoid any

hindrance to my regular work, I opted for admission in Jamal Mohamed

College. There is no rule barring my joining this course. No preferential

treatment was offered to me and none is entitled to. To furnish a glaring

example one of the teachers of our College was caught copying in M.Phil.,

(Part – Time) Computer Science Examination during May 2010.

The disciplinary Committee, decided to bar him from writing exams for 2 terms

and he was terminated from service for such indiscipline. Invigilators from

other Colleges also participate in the conduct of exams and the valuation is

strictly done by the external examiners. The results are sent to the University

which grants the degree certificate.

We practice integrity, honesty, sincerity and transparency to the fullest extent.

When the College was conferred Autonomous status in 2004-05, the students

strength was 5179 only. Many feared that on account of Autonomy the existing

strength may reduce. The integrity and honesty we pursued, increased the

strength of students to 9625 during 2010-11.

All in our College, including me, believe that God Almighty is watching,

hearing, listening and understanding what all we think and imagine. Fear of

Almighty is the basic driving force in all the people in the administration. The

Management of the College has so far appointed Principals with exemplary

character and attributes of good qualities. I have performed Umra Pilgrimage 2

times and Haj Pilgrimage twice. Last year I was invited by the Government of

Saudi Arabia as their guest to perform Haj at their expense.

I have traveled widely to impress upon the Muslims about the good human

values to be practiced by them in countries like United Arab Emirates,

Srilanka, Singapore, Malaysia, Bangladesh and Marutius. I have been an

ardent follower of good principles that can be emulated by others. “The Life

Time Achievement Award” by SMART Journal Trustees of Bharathidasan

University, was awarded to me in recognition of my services. The Government

of Tamilnadu recognized my services by selecting me for the Best Teacher

Award. Under my guidance many M.Phil., and Eight Ph.D., Scholars, in

Commerce and Management have been awarded their degrees .Learning is the

right granted to any individual and can be acquired by every one irrespective

of the age and position held, through the proper and approved ways and

means.
When I was appointed as the Principal, during 2003-2004, the College was 52

years old with its students strength at 4456. In 2010-2011, the College is

celebrating Diamond Jubilee completing 60 years of its commendable service

in higher education. During my service of 8 years there has been tremendous

growth in the College, in terms of students strength, appointment of qualified

staff, establishment of necessary infrastructure in terms of buildings.

Consisting of class rooms, Science laboratories, Computer labs, Library, staff

rooms, Seminar Halls, Auditoriums apart from LCD facilities, 24 hours

uninterrupted Internet connectivity of 8 mbps capacity, Six 125 KVA, one 80

KVA, eleven 64 KVA Generators (Totaling 18 Generators) Sports, Hostel,

Canteen, Health Care facilities etc.

During these years, many Job oriented courses were introduced and 60

Additional sections for existing and new courses were started. 14 New Blocks

in the College, Additional floors in 4 Buildings, three Endowment Buildings in

the Campus, 8 new buildings in hostels, additional floors in 3 buildings in the

hostels were constructed. Student’s strength increased from 4456 to 9625;

and that of the staff from 164 to 384. Autonomy status, including renewal for

the second term, was granted to the College. AICTE approval for M.C.A.,

programme( 2 sections), NAAC Reaccredidation with “A” Grade (CGPA 3.6 out

of 4.0) Permanent affiliation for 13 UG courses, 11 PG courses, 11 M.Phil

programmes, 12 Ph.D programmes., 8 COP sections under Self Finance

scheme were obtained, including 11 UG courses, 11 PG courses and 2 M.Phil

programmes., sections under Government Aided stream. The policy of

increasing quantity with improvement in quality by creating necessary

additional facilities has been followed by tapping funds from UGC for the

construction of Women Hostel, Indoor Stadium, UG Development Grant, PG

Development Grant, Grant under Merged Schemes, Grant for Infrastructural

development, UGC Women Hostel, Indoor Stadium, IDB Project for Hostel

Buildings, Jeddah Alumni MBA Block, Janab. Jamal Mohamed Block and Janab.

Mohamed Mian Rowther Block, in the College and Kuwait Alumni Block,

Singapore Alumni Block and Chennai Alumni Block in the hostels.

A good academic ambiance and research culture are provided to both staff and

students in the campus. There are 52 Ph.D., and 156 M.Phil., guides in our

College approved by Bharathidasan University. For Major Research projects

funding from UGC is received for the Department of Botany, Zoology, Physics

and Chemistry. Department of Science and Technology, Delhi has provided

funds for up gradation of Laboratories under FIST programme to Mathematics,

Physics, Botany and Zoology Departments.

In addition to Managing Jamal Mohamed College during these 8 years, the

College Management has also started NCTE approved B.Ed., College, Ayesha

Matriculation School, Government approved Type writing Institute and Hotel

Management Industrial School.

The students are trained in education for life. In addition to academic

achievements, students are involved in self buildings activities like NSS, NCC,

YRC, Leo, Rotaract, Anti Dowry, RRC, Consumer Club, Games, Sports, Cultural

events and thereby a social concern is developing amongst the students

community. Through Value added and Deeniyath Education, we inculcate the
