Косвенная речь - это чьи-либо слова, точно переданные по смыслу из прямой речи,
не заключенные в кавычки.
Ex.: He said, “I'll wait for you” He said that he would wait for me.
“I want to go to bed early”, she said. She said (that) she wanted to go to bed early.

“She is talking to Joe”, he said. He said (that) she was talking to Joe.
Past Continuous Past Continuous
“I was travelling around New-York”, he said. He said (that) he was travelling around N.Y.
Present Perfect Past Perfect
“I have bought flowers”, she said. She said (that) she had bought flowers.
Past Simple Past Perfect
“He lost all the money”, she said. She said (that) he had lost all the money.
Future Simple Future-in-the-Past
“I’ll see you later”, he said. He said (that) he would see me later.
“The Earth is round”, said the teacher. The teacher said that the Earth is round.
