Dear Raymond:
One of our primary goals for our annual conference is to provide D.A.R.E. instructors and
educators with the opportunity to enhance their educational skills and learn about the availability
of important resource information. The workshops at this year's conference were outstanding
and we have received numerous comments and compliments regarding the quality of the diverse
presentations. We've enclosed copies of your workshop evaluation forms for your review.
Once again, thank you for being part of this unique experience and for your role in furnishing
vital information to the D.A.R.E. instructors and educators who work so hard to make a
difference in the lives of young people.
Sincerely,
Scott Gilliam

Walking Together with the Spirit
February 19, 2009
It gives us great pleasure to award you the 2009 Living Spirit Award for your outstanding contributions to
our community, especially as the founder and president of Ahave Kids. Your continuous work in so many
capacities has helped to build a stronger, more loving community for the people of God.
Each year the Spiritual Life Center presents two Living Spirit awards to individuals or organizations that
have, over the course of their life and ministry, witnessed to the integration of spirituality and life.
Recipients of the award have given evidence of witness of faith through service, openness to people and
organizations of diverse faith backgrounds, commitment to sharing spirituality with the larger community
and witness to the possibility of transformation of individuals, relationships and structures. This year we
are also honoring Yehezkel Landau, co-founder of the Open House Center for Jewish-Arab Coexistance in
Rmle, Israel and is Director of the Building Abrahamic Partnerships Program at Hartford Seminary.
Past recipients include: Mr. Thomas Malone, Rev. Shelly Copeland, Mr. Jatin DeSai, Rev. Henry Millan,
Mr. Ted Carroll, Rev. Laurie Etter, Mr. Courtney Bourns, Covenant to Care for Children, Mary Keane of
Mary's Place, House of Bread, Loaves and Fishes, Mr. William Farley, and the Women's Leadership
Institute of Hartford Seminary.
We would like to present the award to you on Monday, April 20, 2009 at the Pond House Banquet Hall in
West Hartford .. I know Barbara Japenga has spoken with you and Sarah will get back to you with the
logistical details and answer any questions you may have.
If there are any colleagues, family or friends you would like us to invite to the awards dinner, we would be
happy to do so. We will need their names and addresses by March 9, 2009. You can fax them to us at
860-242-7914 or email them to programs@spiritlifectr.org.
Once again, congratulations on your award and thank you for your tireless work on behalf of God's people.
Sincerely,
