Cheer Section!
Yeah we know your club is stronger!
At the beach we like it longer!
Long, long-
SOOOOOOO– LONG.
If you notice anything weird in this issue of our newsletter, be sure to let
us know! And in the meantime there’ll be some sections that will be definitely
up and running by the time the school year starts. So you could say it’s a
sneak peek.
I’m so ecstatic and joyous to be here to serve alongside you all! I can’t
wait to see where our amazing board shall take us through this next year. Let’s
just say there’s a lot in store for all of you and I hope you all stick around to see
what we as the board have planned. You are all in for quite a surprise, count
on that.
You should all know that we as the board are currently finding themes
for the next year and that you should all definitely stick around and go to
meetings to find out what our new theme is!
Over the past year our club has been in the process of making a name
for itself, and now we’re officially on a roll. Over spring break we our club at-
tended the California-Nevada-Hawaii Circle K International District Conven-
tion. During this time our club dominated at DCON with our talent act! Even
though we didn’t place, our name will definitely be known throughout CNH.
But that’s not all! On top of that our club is now home to the 2011-2012 CNH
District Governor, Brett Butler! With all this, our club has nowhere to go but up!
This year we’re going to need every last member to be pumped up
with the awesomeness that is CSULB CIRCLE K. So be ready, for glorious things
are soon to come!
Woo what a mouthful! But, ah! There’s so much more to say and so little
space! If you’re craving for more updates, be sure to check out the special
messages section!

IP Vice President
of Service
Katrina Lim
Hello all! I’m Katrina Lim, your past Vice President of Service. I’d like
to thank those of you who helped out at service projects. This is an inte-
gral part of Circle K, and I’m so glad that many of you enjoy serving our
community as much as I do. Especially at YMCA Fun Days, where we
watch children like creepers at the zoo, science centers, and on boats.
But I think that it’s probably just me, hahaha. Now that my term is over,
I’m going to be just another member, helping out at service projects
whenever I can. I’m turning my position over to Eva, and I know that she’s
going to do a wonderful job. SHE BETTER DO A WONDERFUL JOB. Haha, I
kid; she’s definitely going to do well! Anywho, I hope you guys had fun,
and I look forward to not searching for service projects anymore! JK!
IP Treasurer
Jamie Fujimoto
Hey everyone! It's Jamie Fujimoto, your now IP Treasurer for Circle
K. This year has been a great year for CSULB Circle K! I can't
believe the year is just about over! It has been exciting to see our
club grow since the beginning of the year, particularly in size and
member involvement. We were able to double the amount of dues paid
members in our club from last year, which was very exciting! The
ending of the executive board term has been bittersweet. I'm sad that
I will no longer be serving you guys as treasurer. However, I know
our new board will give us just as good of a year, if not better!
IMMEDIATE PAST BOARD (2010-2011)
Hey everyone!
IP Secretary

Hey Long Beach Circle K'ers! This is the Vice Vice President of
President of Administration, Kristel Eclarino, and Administration
I'm so excited to be part of the executive board
for the 2011-2012 school year. Being in the Kiwanis Kristel
family for almost 4 years has made me appreci-
ate community service and just having the satis- Eclarino
faction of helping people while working with fam-
ily. I really consider Long Beach Circle K a family
and I hope everyone in the club feels the same (if
you don't, you will in due time!). I know that the
new E-Board will work together to make the club
have a stronger bond with each other and I'm
looking forward to being part of that ride! It
means a lot to me being a part of such an amaz-
ing organization and I couldn't be more happier
Hi my name is Michelle
Huynh! I am excited to be our new
treasurer for Long Beach State Cir-
cle K 2011-2012. This year is going
to be great and fun with all the
hard work that will be put into it.
Treasurer Remember, what you put in is what
you get out of everything in life.

EXECUTIVE BOARD (2011-2012)
Hey Long Beach Circle K! What is up? I’m Joseph Reguindin but
everybody calls me Joe! I’m so nervous but even more excited to serve
you as your new secretary for the 2011-2012 term. When I first joined Circle
K I was super nervous and I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this past year
has shown me that joining Circle K was no mistake. I’ve met so many new
friends and have helped so many people and I hope that everyone in
our club can have the same experience OR HAVE AN EVEN BETTER ONE!
I encourage everyone to stay active so that you can get the full
experience of what this club offers. We got some fun and awesome
things planned for this term so stay tuned! Anyway, I can’t wait to chill
with all of you while we serve the community and while we live it up dur-
ing our fun socials! Believe it!

When I say 'D' You say 'CON', D-CON!
[District Convention]
by Christine Nguyen
DCON weekend was finally here. It was something that I
had been looking forward to all for a while. Arriving at the hotel
I could see so many spirited Circle K’ers everywhere, covered
head-to-toe in sporty spirit wear. It just made me that much more excited for
the festivities to start. I loved seeing the colorful shirts that each club had de-
signed based on the theme for that 2010-2011 year.
After the first general session, we were put into a room with our division
to listen to the speeches of potential candidates whom were running for Dis-
trict Positions. All of them had a lot to say why they would be the best choice
and what they would fix but only a few stood out in a way that would make
them the best candidate for that position.
The next day everyone was dressed in business wear heading off to
workshops. Some workshops were more focused on E-board positions, others
mainly for first time Circle K members that were very informative and eye
opening.
Finally the big moment arrived, the talent show. Something that CSULB
CKI had been working so hard for. I honestly didn't care if we placed or not it
was more a matter of being in the talent act that made me so proud of the
club. I can honestly say that we tried our best.
Sunday, the final day of DCON. It was bittersweet because it was the
retirement of this past year’s officers, as well as the installation of the next
years. These people worked so hard to get where they are now and I'm so
proud and honored that they were brave enough to take up these positions.
They deserve it. DCON was a weekend that opened my eyes up to the poten-
tial possibilities that one day I could change the world one step at a time.
