Fairview RCMP Centennial Museum
Located in Downtown Fairview at 10813-103 Avenue across from the
Fine Arts Centre and originally an RCMP residence, it depicts a typical
1920 home. There are displays on the main and upper floor, basement
and porch. The museum is literally filled with artifacts, displays and
photos that capture and preserve the history of the surrounding area.
OPEN: Summer hours of operation
1:30 - 5:00 pm
BOULEVARD SWEEPING
Boulevard sweeping will be in progress in April and May. Watch for street
closure signs which will be posted one day in advance. Please remove
parked vehicles from streets when you see the sign. Parked vehicles will
delay sweeping. Clear debris from around low trees to facilitate sweeping.
29
Or, why clutter the landfill with things someone else could use?
Put items out on your front lawn or driveway that you no longer
need but someone else may. Then, drive or walk around town, have
a look to see if others have something you need. If yes, take it, it’s
free! At the same time, get to know the people in your community.
It’s win-win, green and fun!
30
Cook Up Some
Compost!
Composting is great for the
environment and great for
your garden, but keep it
clean and odor-free.
Recipe
Green Stuff - Fresh lawn clippings, raw food
scraps, egg shells, peelings, seeds, weeds
(only if you cook your compost properly, otherwise, skip the weeds)
Dry Stuff - Dried grass or plant material, fallen leaves, newsprint
Dirt - Any kind of garden dirt to provide the necessary bacteria
Water - Dry compost will not decompose
Layer, Stir - To distribute ingredients evenly
Wait - Watch the magic happen - fabulous black, sweet-smelling soil

Fairview’s 2011
Community Clean-up and
Beautification Plan
Be a Part of Something Great!
This year, we are going all out to spruce up and beautify our community. Why?
First, Fairview can and should be a clean, beautiful place for all of us to live.
Second, we are hosting the biggest event ever to be held here - the Alberta 55
Plus Summer Games, which will bring in 1500 or more visitors - we want to
show off and be proud of our community. Third, we have entered the Alberta
Communities in Bloom contest, competing with other towns of similar size in
the Province. Fourth, a big surprise is coming soon, but here’s a hint - Fairview
will be hosting its first annual no-holds-barred fun festival August 27th.
Check out the plan to see what the Town is doing for you and what you can do to
participate in the Community Clean-up and Beautification Plan.
