Response to Denis Delisle Directors Report

This is in response to Denis Delisle report on the ap-
proval of another Development Variance Permit in the
June issue of The Kicker (p.4, CSRD Director's Report -
"The DVP is for a resident to build a hobby shop in the
Scotch Creek area, 147% larger than permitted in the
zoning".). While it is correct it is vague.
The facts are as follows: The requested size of the
shop is 185.58m2 (1997.6 sqft) the allowable under the
bylaw is 75m2 (807.32 sqft) with the height of 7.62 m
(25 ft) with the allowable under the bylaw being 6m
(19.69 ft).Under the bylaws, as a home base business, the
property owner is required to have everything undercover
which he has been in non compliance for many years. Six
property owners at the rear of the property, where the
shop is to be built, objected to the size but it was still
passed as submitted. I won’t go into everything here as a
full letter of reply was sent to the CSRD, [you may]

North Shuswap Land and Foreshore Zoning Bylaws
Wednesday, August 18th, 2010
Seymour Arm Community Hall (11am-1pm)
and
North Shuswap Community Hall in Celista (6:30pm-9pm)
The Columbia Shuswap Regional District invites all property owners to attend an open house to verify land use data
collected last summer. This data will be used for a new North Shuswap-wide zoning bylaw (including Celista,
Seymour Arm, Adams Lake, St. Ives and those areas already zoned).
This open house will also present planned foreshore and water zones that will regulate docks & buoys on Shuswap
Lake.
Property owners will be able to view posters showing the proposed zones and speak with staff. This is a drop-in open
house, with no formal presentation.
Those unable to attend the meeting will be able to review the information and submit comments via the CSRD
website (www.csrd.bc.ca) starting in August.
