TRAVEL INFORMATION

CSO PACT CONSULTATION MEETING


13th – 14th April 2011
The Kopanong Hotel and Conference Centre

We are pleased that you will be attending the CSO PACT Consultation Meeting and look forward to your
participation. The meeting shall be conducted in English. Below is general information to guide you and
make your trip and stay as convenient as possible.

Preparing for your travel itinerary: The meeting starts on Wednesday 13th April 2011 and ends on
Thursday 14th April 2011.The venue is the Kopanong Hotel and Conference Centre. A programme and
agenda is also attached to this email. Registration will take place on the Wednesday at the conference
venue where you will receive your name tag, information pack and per diems

Accommodation & Conference Venue


The Conference and Accommodation venue is the same: The Kopanong Hotel and Conference Centre
in Johannesburg.You have been booked a single room (bed and breakfast) at the hotel from 12th April to
15th April 2011 morning (unless otherwise informed). Delegates must check out on the morning of their
departure

The Kopanong Hotel and Conference Centre is set in a tranquil country estate and evokes the spirit of
Africa. The hotel has beautiful gardens surrounding the koi fish ponds and one can enjoy the quiet
harmonious feeling of this unique “Place of Meeting”.

Their convenient location to the OR Tambo International Airport (12.5 kilometers), with easy access to
Johannesburg Central, Sandton, Tshwane and Midrand, all within a 30 minute drive makes Kopanong
the ideal International and local destination

The venue also has a birds of prey centre, a gym, sauna and a cheetah on site.

There is access to wireless internet in common areas and conference centre at no additional cost.
Please note the hotel is not 3G compatible and access to the internet in the rooms are not available.

Please note that there will be a Welcoming Cocktail at the terrace area of the hotel on the first day of the
meeting 13th April starting at 16.30pm – 17.30.00pm. Please note snacks and non alcoholic drinks will
be paid for.

Meals
Lunch will be provided during the meeting as part of the conference package. This includes one soft
drink (non-alcoholic) per person.

Participants are expected to settle their own bills for dinner, any additional drinks (including all
alcoholic drinks) and incidentals.

Travel + Daily Subsistence Allowance


You will receive per diems at USD 100 per day converted at current exchange rate. This rate was
calculated after taking into account costs for accommodation, breakfast, lunch and airport transfers. Due
to South African exchange control regulations, per diems will be paid in South African currency
(RANDS) only. Should you need to convert the rands into a different currency, a letter will be provided
for presentation to the Bureau de Change.

Airport Transfers
Arrivals
Please note the hotel collects delegates according to flight details. International arrivals have to meet
the shuttle outside Terminal 2 A International Arrivals in the shuttle bus parking area at the OR Tambo
Airport. Domestic flight arrivals proceed to the back of the Inter-Continental Hotel. There you will find the
Kopanong Hotel shuttle with the name of the hotel on it.

Departure
Please note all delegates have to be at the airport 2 hours before check in. Transport from the hotel will be
arranged. You will have to confirm your departure times with the front desk 8 hours prior to departure. The
shuttle will leave every hour on the hour. It is the responsibility of the delegate to get to the airport on
time.

Please note if you would prefer you could arrange a private taxi, however this will be at your own
cost.

1. Vaccinations and Health Issues


It is your responsibility and at your own cost to obtain any vaccinations that may be necessary for
travel to South Africa. Alternatively, visitors may be inoculated at a cost on arrival at the OR
Tambo International Airport.

3.Flight confirmation
SARPAM will not be responsible for flight re-confirmations. All delegates have been sent their
e- tickets. Any changes made after the issue of the ticket, which will attract a fee, will be at the
participant’s cost.

4.. Tipping
Tipping is common practice in South Africa for a range of services. In restaurants the accepted
standard is around 10% of the bill.
5.. Safety
Visitors are encouraged to be vigilant and aware of surroundings at all time.
