Guides and Troubleshooting

links below.

Meet the Google Home App
Chromecast Built-in Help

Troubleshooting
Please see the troubleshooting below if you experience a network error, command issue
or have trouble seeing your device in Google Home.

Network Error
If you receive a Network Error message:

1. Make sure the Night Owl device is powered ON.

2. Check the device’s network connection and make
sure it is using the same network as Google
Chromecast.
3. Make sure you are using a Night Owl device that
is compatible with Google Assistant.

Command Issues
Naming a device makes it easier for Google to interpret your commands. For example,
having more than one camera named “Camera,” makes it difficult to distinguish from other
devices with the same name. Consider naming a camera based on its location (i.e. Outdoor,
Front Door, Office).

Adding a New Night Owl Camera

After adding a device to the Night Owl App, Google Home must refresh itself which may take
several minutes. Open the Google Home App. If the newly added device to the Night Owl
App has not yet appeared, close the App and repeat this process. If the device continuously
fails to appear, make sure: 1) the product is a Google Home compatible device and 2) the
device is added to your Night Owl account.
