Education in Pakistan

Sir Charlis Trivlyan was a relative of lord Mikalay .He joined East India Company as a
clerk. He become the governor of Madres for his capability .He prepared a report named
“Education of Indian people” in 1938 as a conveyer of education inquiry committee in
seventh chapter of his report has a title “Political trades of Indian system “Here are some
extract of his report.
“…Muslim Education system consists of power, glory and emotional determination
Muslim think that they whole state is there properties. Other people are usurer. They need
not to establish terms with other nation it is our good luck that traditional system are
having very difficult language of Arabic and Sanskrit common people cannot understand
there massagers. But what we can say about such education system which marks all these
thinking alive .It remind Muslim that we snatched the best state of India from them .our
worst enemies wish to spread an education system that will comprises the human
emotions against us. It is possible to change the national ideology by implementation
European thinking; there young generation trained in our educational institution hatred
the thinking of their forefather. They give attention to English institution. They like to
live with us. They wish to become like us. They want to do work with us English
literature can create favorable condition to develop good terms with British people. After
studying our literature, they will not recognized us an alien .Thy will remember our great
heroes as we do. Thy will join our activities. They will adopt our culture they will be
Muslim apparently but they will live our thinking .a perpetual relationship between
England and India is far from fact .we can not stop the natives for demands of
independence There are two ways to attain the purpose. One is by revolution and the
other is by rectification. In first way the change will be cruel and immediate .By the
second way, the change will bee gradual and peaceful .the result of farmer will be mental
strangeness and displeasure. The result of later will be permanent friendship, common
benefits and well wisher .we can get advantages in such a way that we make busy the
natives for getting developments of European style. In this manner our present
relationship with India will be remained .it will become stronger and indisputable change
will be developed gradually .If we adopt this peaceful way then there is no separation
between the twos .A temporary relationship will be changed into a very different and
strong relationship. Nativee trained by us and we will get fruit of our policy.

We are not doing new experiment this has been done by Romans. They made European
nations civilized and they painted them like Romans. In other words they taught them
roman literature and arts they learnt them to obey the conquerors they captured them by
peaceful arts. They forgot initial tyranny after getting benefits. There will be a relation
between Indians and us like have with Romans tactic (a historian) told us that Julis
Agrical
Adopted the policy to educate the Roman literature to the offspring of British become
their friends .Thy oppose to go back Romans more that their father opposes to coming the
Romans .it will b very shameful for us if we cannot get the same result. There is an issue
present in our country to change in curriculum. This scheme is not new but it has been
prepared when British were ruling our country. First they imposed their own textbooks in
our private school system .the names places, history and other cultural aspect taught by
there books are not ours now circumstance are suitable for implementation of their
plan .now they are trying to teach our new generation according to their wishes. Basil
Bernstein an educationist commenting on the social and political organization of
knowledge in society he writes, Formal educational knowledge is considered to be
realized through three message systems. Curriculum, pedagogy and evaluation.
Curriculum defined what counts as valid knowledge pedagogy defined what counts as a
valid transmission of knowledge and evaluation defined what counts as a valid realization
of this knowledge on the part of thee taught….”
The state is expected to nature the citizen as a mother and protect him like a father .it is
responsibilities of state to guide a person in a right way, to provide better education as it
can .it is possible only in such a way that state should realize its responsibility prospect of
this sensitive issue .we can not ignore it .as it is our basic problem.
Our school curricula are subject oriented the problem with this approach is that most of
the educationist are subject specialist. They know about their respective subject but not
about the needs, perceptions and expectations of the structures .it is necessary to prepare
curriculum as research oriented it should fulfill all needs and demands of children of the
specific age groups.
Syed Nafees Abbas Jaferry writes “curriculum is the first step of our generations to
future. every nation has its own ideology and they can adopt it in their practical life of
Quaid-e-Azam had marked this reality during addressing in first conference our
curriculum and education system in Karachi. Unfortunately no government had given
attention to this aspect .now present government has touched this issue as change in the
ideological basis of curriculum. Some people, who want to turn our country in a secular
state, support this propaganda. They want to join Pakistan with India and south Asia.
They don’t know that Pakistan is not a region but it is result of an aim that Muslim don’t
accept to live under any other religious government.”
A news published in a well know national language newspapers tell us that different
private publishers published such books in which The Quranic Verses are printed that
there is present an insulting aspect Kashmir has disappeared from the map of Pakistan.
Curriculum wing of education ministry has permitted publishers to publish by a private
publisher. There is a picture of shoes in front of Allah. There are also pictures of animals
in front of the name of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). There are also many mistakes present
in the book of Islamic studies.
Government will not answerable on publishing any book published to private publishers.
Government allowed publishers so they blame others to show such non-serious attitude.
When we asked Mrs Sajida Ezaj a senior schoolteacher, at a Government school. She
says, “Our country is an ideological state it is our need to prepare our curriculum at right
angles. This is possible by rebuild our educational system educational system, according
to Islamic point of view. What are we giving to our new generation? They read books
printed by private publisher. There is no check on these publishers. There are present
picture of animals with the name of Allah, and somewhere we remove Quranic verses
only for the reason that these are pictures include in next chapters of the book. It was
dissoppointed to her such immature thinking of our federal Education minister Zubida
Jalal”.
A student Rafia Tahir tells us “I am very afraid of the situation that in our school, girl’s
use many Hindi worlds in the class room. India penetrates in our culture through T.V
channels and film .Now other problems by changing the contents of syllabus books are
raised. I think this is conspiracy of our enemies to insult our caliphs; wrong thinking is
included in our curriculum. If we tell the children a wrongs thing .we cannot expect
patriotism and religious thoughts in future .So we should prepare a research based
curriculum.”
The curriculum identifies the ideology .we come to know about the aims of broad
through curriculum of a particular subject .it should be convey ideology and religious
thought of a nation Every nation has its own ideology, culture, customs and history. All
these things are the part of the syllabus .So new generation comes to know about its
origin .For the sake of our national identity we should check all weaknesses in the
curriculum .So thee dream of our enemies cannot come true. Education is supposed to
prepare tomorrow’s leaders. The syllabus plays an important role in the development of
personality of the child.
It is fact that we react when we see a new decisions .Now there are many forums.
Discussions and suggestions for curriculum. After sometime we shall become habitual
and then all these issues will have no importance. We should learn lesson from history.
First experiments on curriculum was done in the era of Ayub Khan and the result was
separation of East Pakistan in the form of Bengla Desh. We cannot leave this issue
because it is very sensitive .our future depends on this. It is time to decide whether we
want to produce a generation having slavish thinking or having its own ideology and
background
