NSTAR GREEN SERVICE RIDER

1.0 PURPOSE

NSTAR Green Service is available to any residential or small commercial & industrial
Customer who is receiving Basic Service and who elects such Basic Service to be comprised of
either 50 percent or 100 percent renewable generation.

2.0 AVAILABILITY

NSTAR Green Service shall be available to any residential or small commercial & industrial
Customer (rate classes R-1, R-2, R-3, R-4, R-5, G-1, G-7) who is receiving Basic Service.
Service under this rate to any Customer is subject to both the Company’s printed
requirements and the Company’s Terms and Conditions - Distribution Service, each as in
effect from time to time.

3.0 DEFINITIONS

“Basic Service” shall mean the service provided by the Company to a Customer who is not
receiving Generation Service from a Competitive Supplier, in accordance with the provisions
set forth in this tariff and the Company’s Basic Service tariffs.

"Customer" shall mean any person, partnership, corporation, or any other entity, whether
public or private, who obtains Distribution Service at a Customer Delivery Point and who is a
Customer of record of the Company.

“NSTAR Green Service” shall mean the service provided by the Company to a Customer who
elects to receive generation service with a mix of renewable power.

“Renewable Energy Credit” is the portion of the contract costs associated with renewable
energy credits.

“Market Energy Price” is the value the Company receives from selling the energy supplied
under the renewable contracts into the energy market.

“Energy Costs associated with the renewable contracts” are the total contract costs less the
costs associated with the Renewable Energy Credits.

“Administrative costs” are the costs associated with implementing the NSTAR Green
program. These include the costs for making customers aware of the option, for making
changes to the billing system, for training customer service reps, for obtaining E-Certification,
and for consulting with program experts.

4.0 RATE

The rate for NSTAR Green Service, effective January 1, 2008, shall be the applicable Basic
Service Rate plus an adder applicable to the selected option as set forth below.

50% Green $0.00837 per kilowatt-hour


100% Green $0.01396 per kilowatt-hour

The adders set forth above for NSTAR Green Service shall consist of: (1) the cost of
Renewable Energy Credits procured by the Company; (2) the difference between the estimated
Market Energy Prices and the Company’s Energy Costs associated with the Company’s
renewable generation contracts, (3) the Company’s administrative and program costs to
provide NSTAR Green Service and (4) an annual reconciliation adjustment.

The annual reconciliation adjustment shall equal the sum of the hourly differences between the
actual Market Energy Prices and the Company’s Energy Costs associated with the energy
received on behalf of the NSTAR Green participants from the Company’s renewable
generation contracts for the prior twelve-month period.

The Company will reconcile its administrative cost described above as follows: Prior to the
start of year four of the program, the Company will reconcile its actual administrative costs
with the administrative charge portion of actual NSTAR Green Adder revenues recovered
under the program. At that time, the Company will propose an updated administrative charge
which will include the reconciliation amounts described above, amortization of NIS costs and
any recurring annual administrative costs for approval by the M.D.P.U. to be effective starting
in year four of the program. The actual costs shall include carrying charges at the interest rate
paid on customer deposits for the total NIS billing expenses incurred during that period.

5.0 INITIATION OF NSTAR GREEN SERVICE

In order to initiate NSTAR Green Service, a Customer must notify the Company two (2) or
more business days before the Customer’s next scheduled meter read date. If notification is
fewer than two (2) days before the Customer’s next scheduled meter read date, NSTAR Green
Service shall be initiated concurrent with the Customer’s subsequent scheduled meter read
date.

6.0 TERMINATION OF NSTAR GREEN SERVICE

NSTAR Green Service may be terminated by a Customer concurrent with the Customer's next

scheduled meter read date provided that notice of termination service by a Customer or
Competitive Supplier is received by the Company two (2) or more business days before the
next scheduled meter read date, in accordance with the Company's Terms and Conditions for
Competitive Suppliers.

If the Company receives the notice of termination of NSTAR Green Service by the Customer
or the Competitive Supplier fewer than two days before the Customer's next scheduled meter
read date, NSTAR Green Service shall be terminated concurrent with the Customer's
subsequent scheduled meter read date.

There shall be no fee for terminating NSTAR Green Service.
