1. Transcript: Attach a copy of your transcript. If this transcript does not include your first semester senior year
grades, please plan to submit another transcript after those grades have been assigned. An unofficial copy is sufficient.
The transcript must be sent to the Honors Program.

2. Teacher Recommendation: You will be required to have one teacher recommendation. The following guidelines should
be shared with your chosen recommender.

The applicant will supply the University with information about his or her curricular and extracurricular activities,
accomplishments and honors. In a separate letter on your school's official letterhead, please provide a letter of
recommendation on behalf of the student to assist our evaluation of his or her qualifications for the University of Georgia
Honors Program. Please place your letter in a sealed envelope, sign your name across the envelope flap and return the
envelope to the applicant to be sent with the application (make certain that the applicant's full name is on the front of the
envelope). The student must submit the completed application and supplemental materials postmarked by the dates outlined
on the first page of the application. Typed letters are preferred but not required.

3. Essay: On a separate sheet, write a one-page essay on the following topic:

French novelist Anatole France once stated, "It is better to understand little than to
misunderstand a lot." If accepted, what will you seek to understand better as a student
in the Honors Program at the University of Georgia?
