EVALUATION
 Multiple-aged stands continually provide habitat at different
stages of succession.
 Installation of nest boxes provides nesting habitat for
bluebirds, tree swallows, barred owls and wood ducks.
 Ecological forest management practices provide suitable
habitat and timber profits.
 Income from clearcuts and thinnings provide enough revenue
to satisfy NJ Farmland Tax Assessment qualifications.
 Along with creating a buffer zone to protect developed land,
fuel loads are greatly reduced in order to protect against
wildfire.
 Management practices will take into consideration the needs of
the breeding Cooper’s Hawk pair nesting in the AWC stand.
 By reintroducing fire and patch-sized disturbances, along with
reducing competition by thinning, forest health will be
improved allowing better defense against pests and pathogens.
