22. Consider the following two statements A and B and identify the
correct answer.

ANSWERS
1. Current is the flow of electrons per unit time. i.e., I = q/t. If ‘n’ electrons flows
per unit time then q = ne, where
‘e’ is charge of electron = 1.6 *10-19. Now
n = I/e = 4.8 / 1.6 *10-19 = 3*1019
2. The equation of the wave is y = 0.5 cos (0.02t + 0.06x - /6). Let x1 and x2 be the
displacements which have a phase difference of π/2. i.e.,
(0.02t + 0.06 x1 - /6) - (0.02t + 0.06 x2- /6) = π/2 → 0.06 (x1 - x2) = 1/2 →
x1 - x2 = 100/12 = 8.3cm.
7. When a bar magnet of magnetic moment M is cut into ‘n’ equal parts of same
length, then the magnetic moment of each piece is M/n. So the answer is 01amp-
m 2.
8. When a magnet of length 2l and magnetic moment M is bent at its middle such
that the two equal parts makes an angle ө with each other, then the new
magnetic moment is M sin ө/2.
Here ө = 600. So new magnetic moment is M sin 300 = M/2.
9. When a magnet of moment M is bent into a semi circle, the new magnetic
moment will be 2M/π or 7M/π .
15. We know that IE = IB + IC. Here IC = 90% (IE) = 10mA. Then IE = 11mA
