Domestic Workers Day

The 9 of January is celebrated as the International
th

Domestic Worker’s Day by the National Domestic

Workers’ Movement every year. This day is generally
celebrated by the domestic workers at State or District
head quarters and is marked by rallies,
demonstrations and public meet. Eminent persons
are invited to address the gathering of domestic
workers. This serves as a converging point for many
domestic workers who otherwise remain busy
working. This is a day to display their strength in
numbers and voice. This year three demands in
particular apart from many others were placed before
the government of India and state governments by the
domestic workers across India on domestic workers’
