With the season only beginning, the Jackrabbit baseball team have raised the bar and
are meeting the challenges. The Jackrabbit baseball team, now 20-10 on the season and
7-1 in the Summit League standings, swept the Centenary Gents in a slugfest on April
17th.
SDSU outscored the Gents, 20-6 , from the sixth inning on in the four-game set. The
Gents started swinging early and scored in five of the first
six innings to gain a 10-6 lead before SDSU started its
comeback. Billy Stitz tripled with one out and scored on
a base hit by Joel Blake. Zach Rhodes then stepped to
the plate and hit a two-run home run to right field.

Jackrabbit closer Trever Wermeulen entered the

game to start the bottom of the eighth and
worked around two hits in the eighth to record his third save

Jacks kept their bats hot and ended the game 13-10.
