PREFACE
This training report is being submitted in partial for the fulfilment of requirement of MBA

training in the project assigned under training of human resource management was “HR audit

and PMS” which also covered the following aspect such as welfare of not only the employee but

also leading to achievement of organizational goals.

Management of human resource has changed markedly during the last three decades. Earlier,

there was a change from scientific management to the human relations approach, and at present

the trend is towards behavioral approach which involves an interdisciplinary, scientific study of

human behavior.

In general, productivity forms a measure of the output of goods and services to the input of labor,

material and machinery. The more productive a sector, the better its competitive position will be,

as its units cost will be lower. With the increase in productivity, earnings will improve, raising

the standards of living. Improving productivity does not mean working harder. Rather, its means

working effectively. It means getting more out of what is put in it is doing better with what one

has.

At NTPC, working under the practical atmosphere where there are schedules, deadlines,

clearances and various problems associated with the employees I got to know the more realistic

side of HR.

Being an HR is more than just record keeping of the employees and there data. There is much

more to that. There I got to know a very rigorous process of performance appraisal. The auditors

from outside and inside both posted a report with the help of which we were able to make an

action plan. Our team included of four members so we divided the four stations of northern

region. I was basically involved in the auditing and planning for NTPC- Rihand. The other three

stations were Singraulli, Tanda, Unchahar.
