Harms Our Environment:
Lowers water quality across the state by
increasing allowable amounts of phosphate
into our water supply (rewarding campaign
donors who pollute), increasing algae and
weed growth and negatively impacting
tourism, water sports, and fishing.
Cuts funding for public transit while
increasing funding for road construction to
$5.7 billion (road builders were among
Walker’s largest campaign donors).
Eliminates mandatory recycling.
Lowers drinking water safety (repeals
requirement that cities disinfect drinking
water).
Causes the state to lose almost $50 million
in federal transit funding.
Reduces Health Care options:
Allows sweeping changes to Medicaid
programs by a Walker appointee with no
input or oversight from the public or the
legislature.
Eliminates BadgerCare coverage for many
Wisconsin families (making them unable to
obtain insurance).
Eliminates funding of health services for a
large segment of the population. (Services
include access to contraception, cancer
screenings, and sexually transmitted
infection (STI) screenings. Means increased
health problems and significant health care
costs due increased rates of STIs,
pregnancies and the increased cost of
delayed cancer diagnoses).
Drastically alters Seniorcare, forcing seniors
to pay significantly more for their
prescriptions – meaning our elderly may
have to choose between medicine and other
essential items such as food and housing.
Eliminates requirement that insurance
companies have to cover birth control
prescriptions.
Endangers the Veterans Trust Fund.
Harms our Educational System:
Slashes funding to K-12 public schools by
$834 million (meaning program cuts,
increases in class size, reduced staff, higher
fees to parents).
Eliminates requirement that schools have a
reading specialist and licensed nurses with
bachelor's degrees.
BUT expands the voucher program so
wealthy parents can use tax dollars to pay
for tuition at private schools.
Eliminates requirement that teachers in non-
public schools must be state certified.
Carves up our state university system,
resulting in increases in tuition and fees.
Slashes funding to Technical College
System by $71.6 million.
Rewards cronies at our expense:
Converts 37 top civil-service, merit based
state jobs into Walker appointees (like the
unqualified son of a lobbyist appointed to an
$82,000 a year job).
Eliminates capital gains taxes for certain
investors, reducing state revenue (on top of
the $117 million in tax breaks given to the
wealthiest in January)
Returns a $23 million federal grant for
installation of high speed internet in rural
areas (rewarding a telecommunications
donor).
Allows Walker to sell state assets in a no-
bid sale (he can sell 32 power plants for any
amount, even zero, forcing the state to pay
higher utility bills to a private owner).
Cuts funding to Wisconsin Arts Board by
73%, reducing arts programs.
Raises taxes on the poor by cutting earned
income credit and homestead tax credit.
Cuts aid to local governments, resulting in
decreased services & lower quality of life.
Cuts funding to local libraries, resulting in
reduced hours and services, possibly library
closures, loss of interlibrary loans.
Eliminates funding of legal aid to the poor
(leaving them unprotected in civil legal
cases such as abusive spouses and
consumer fraud).

Walker’s proposals will devastate the people of our state, harming the middle class, the poor, the elderly, our children, our environment,
