Jesus’ power over the demons

Cheri: Ok now we have finished the study, do you have any

questions you want to ask or anything you’re unsure of?

Giovanna: Actually I do have a question. I have been

wondering lately if, seems Jesus is a son of God and
Satan and the demons were sons of God, does that mean
that Jesus doesn’t have any power over the demons?

Cheri: That’s a very good question Giovanna. Can I ask why

you asked that? Are you a little scared of the demons?

Giovanna: Yes a little. They’re just bad.

Cheri: I understand Giovanna, but I see you’ve thought about

this and maybe to help us with your question let’s have a look
at this book again and I remember in Chapter 10 there’s a
Chapter on Jesus’ power over the demons.
(TURN TO CHAPTER 10)
Now at the start it talks about how Satan came about and how
he started to get angels for himself. What were they called
again?

Giovanna: Satan’s bad angels are called demons.

Cheri: Very good.

Now they did some bad things when they came to earth, do
you know what that was?

Giovanna: They left their home in heaven and had kids

with the human women. The kids were mean giants that
hurt people.

Cheri: Very good. So really Jehovah couldn’t use them again

as angels could he?

Giovanna: No
Cheri: What that means is Jehovah saw them as rebels and he
would destroy them. Who do you think he will use?

Giovanna: Jesus

Cheri: That’s right. Jehovah also made sure that the children
of those demons that were on earth and all the other bad
people on the earth were destroyed when he caused the great
flood. Only Noah and his family survived didn’t they, because
they loved and obeyed Jehovah and built an ark as Jehovah
had asked them to. Let’s have a look at a scripture to expand
on this.
Luke 17:26,27. I’ll read that.

So what will the days of Noah be like according to this
scripture?

Giovanna: It says “like the days of the son of man.”

Cheri: Very good. So according to that scripture when the son

of man comes, Jesus, all the bad people will be destroyed.
What about the Satan and the demons? Lets have a look at
John 14:30.

So you see here, the ruler of the world, who is Satan, has no
hold over Jesus. How about we read the last paragraph here to
see what Jesus will do to Satan and his Demons.

So as you can see there, Jesus is stronger than they are, and
Jesus is going to destroy them. Wont that be good?

Giovanna: Yea

Cheri: So what did it say we have to do to be protected from

the demons in the meantime?

Giovanna: It says we have to keep close to him and his

heavenly father, Jehovah. Thanks for teaching me that
Cheri. I’m going to make sure I always keep close to
Jehovah and Jesus.
