Bienvenidos al Modelo de Naciones Unidas Colegio Británico de Costa
Rica 2011 (BSCR MUN 2011). Le enviamos un cordial saludo de parte de los
Secretarios Generales: Ernesto García y Andrés Rodríguez; y la profesora a
cargo Ana Rojas. Esta conferencia tiene como meta crear delegados con un
pensamiento crítico que sean capaces de afrontar problemas mundiales desde
diferentes perspectivas, mientras se divierten y pasan un fin de semana
memorable.
− Al final del primer día se propondrá una moción para cesar el debate por
el día.
Moción: Acción para solicitar que se empiece con algún procedimiento, de esto
existen varios tipos pero básicamente es cualquier solicitud al foro para iniciar
con un proceso diferente. Esto siempre será democrático, el Director tiene
poder de veto o de aprobación inmediata.
Consejo Moderado: debate informal, se ora desde cada asiento, siempre en una
postura de pie para una mejor comunicación. Se utiliza la regla del primero que
levante su credencial y sea escogido por el Director.
Mejor Delegado: Delegado con mayor participación y que logra llevar a cabo
una solución pacifica o de conveniencia al problema. La elección será objetiva
y hecha por los Directores.

It is my honor and pleasure to welcome you all to the 3rd annual British
School of Costa Rica Model United Nations. My name is Daniel Divney, and I will
be your chair along with Maria Ximena Arteaga. The topic for the Security
Council this year is the ongoing Libyan Civil War, and the foreign intervention
in it. This ongoing conflict is proving to be a critical issue, with countless
civilians being killed or wounded every day.

My name is Mónica Quirós and along with my co-chair Isabella Mejia, we are
pleased to be welcoming you to the 3rd annual British School of Costa Rica
Model United Nations. In this committee, we will be discussing the controversial
topic of the use of birth-control methods and abortion in refugee camps around
the world. This has been up for discussion since the 1990s, and has become of
imminent importance.
