Note!
Before replacing any electrical parts such as SUx (Scanner Control Unit) or the Cameras, the parameter
block should be erased and the scanner calibrated. This will solve the problem in most cases, especially if
the reported problem is about image quality or identifying the calibration sheet.
The Pressure Rollers and the Glass Plate should also be inspected for wear and tear.

Troubleshooting
Dust problems
Some image quality issues are not related to HW errors. These could be due to either insufficient cleaning or bad
calibration.

Troubleshooting
Image quality problems

Troubleshooting
Stitching problems
Other issues could be that the scanner simply needs to be calibrated, either because the parameter block has been
erased, never been calibrated or that the scanner has been moved around.

Description of each individual test in WIDEsystem Service
Since this chapter is not scanner specific, some of the illustrations may not apply completely to the scanner you are
working on, like number of Cameras and transition areas.
Widesystem / Service consist of 17 different tests designed to help you service the scanner. These test are divided on
5 different tabs according to what you are doing on the scanner.

Post Replacement
Some of the tests may appear on or more tab’s. Each test is also associated with a number for easy reference.
