Employment
Detica 2010 - present
I am currently employed at the consultancy firm Detica. We specialise using large amounts of data to benefit our clients
across a number of sectors. In particular, I have worked with using network analysis to spot fraud, risk and other
patterns in financial data.

Education
Somerville College, University of Oxford
I was awarded a first class masters degree in Mathematics and computer science. My course focused on algorithm
design, compilers and programming languages, functional programming and topology.

During my time at Oxford, I was awarded a number of prizes for my work:

• My final year thesis, entitled “Using Linearity to Allow Heap Recycling in Haskell”, earned me the prize for best fourth
year computer science project.

• In the same year, Somerville college gave my the ‘Mary Somerville’ prize for exam performance.

• During my first and second year a programming competition, open to all undergraduates, was held in which I came
second in my first year and came first in my second year.

• My tutors awarded me a college prize for my effort and progress during my second year.

Katharine Lady Berkley’s School

For A-levels I took Maths, further Maths and Physics, achieving A-grade in each subject. My head of year awarded me
the ‘Renishaw Cup for Excellence’ in my final year.

Other Experience
2009/2010
For the past two summers I have been working in the University Computing Lab with a D.Phil student on a project that
aims to identify features in CT scans automatically, particularly tumors. I had a paper on this topic accepted to the
Oxford student conference and presented my work last year.

2008
As part of Google’s summer of code, I worked with the Python Software Foundation and developed a full 3D tracking
system written in python, using Nintendo Wii remotes and infra-red LEDs. More details can be found here:

Other
I help to run a kid’s club each week at which we regularly see 70 children attend from around Southwark.

Whilst at university, I was an active member of my church and lead several groups of students as well as helping out
with the youth.

I rowed for Somerville college for three years at university, leading the boat in stroke position for one of those years and
earning a blade in one university competition.

I played with a band for a couple of years. We managed to get airplay on Radio One before we had to go our separate
ways.
